Weeing on the yard (horse not human ;-))

My horse has started doing this after every ride. In fairness we are waiting for a new yard to be built so its a fenced off part of the field. Any thoughts why? Does anyone else's horse do this?

A few of the horses on our yard are the same, its all since they have gone on the grass. It contains a lot of water so only seems to happen this time of year. My horse had a wee at a road junction when we stopped on our ride, he never does that normally..

Yes, mine prefers weeing on grass, but at the moment our routine means he has a wee as we get back from hack just before he gets put back in the field, so it's on the road... He prefers weeing on grass (less splashing) but when he's got to go, he's got to go!
