Weekday Plans - w/c 15th Dec

Hello hello!

Another week, sliding towards Christmas and the end of the year… difficult to fit it all in, so here are my plans for this week - suspect we might deviate from them slightly, but will give it a go.
Couple of days off as I plan to go to gym, plus we have some festive outings etc. So who knows what will happen

Last of 3 Mondays booked off work and I might finally finally finally get to hack in the daylight

Will school Tuesday - not making a plan as last session was stressy and spooky
Day off Wednesday
Hopefully lesson Thursday
Half day Friday as I'm skipping the work Christmas dinner so maybe another hack??? We shall see!

last week was a write off for me after a suspected sprained thumb - lily the grey big lump swung her bum into it when i was asking her to move over, and bent it right back! so back to it this week with a busy one!

monday - diva has been to the water treadmill, im going to try and lunge lily later on when the rain eases.
tuesday - hopefully get a hack in
wednesay - arena hire, xmas workers course!
thursday - hack/school
friday - hack/school
saturday - dressage! being brave and doing our first prelim since spring
sunday - our xmas photoshoot! had to be rearranged due to the weather warning yesterday

Very excited for solstice - was SO dark this morning!
Sounds like a decent week ahead for you anyway - hopefully madam is feeling less sassy for Tuesday schooling

Today: A 45 minute pre-work hack. After a weekend of hillwork hacking this was a flatter, stretchy-out hack in walk and trot.
Tuesday: Flatwork or polework schooling
Wednesday: Day off
Thursday: Hacking - hopefully interval based if I can engage my brain sufficiently to cope with timers before work
Friday: Hacking - probably just a brisk trot out
Saturday: Longer, hilly hack
Sunday: I really need to clip still So whatever length hack we have time for after that trauma has been completed * The trauma is all mine trying to get lines and not like he's been hacked at. Pony is a superstar to clip. Like couldn't be better. I have no excuse for my terrible clipping!

It's my last week at work before Christmas so excited for two weeks of daylight, longer rides

Hopefully! God love her, she did try and be good, so long as it wasn't in the scary half of the windy arena. If I can break the rules of the weekend/weekday thread briefly I dug the ears out for a hack yesterday and she was a gem despite the bluster so might just pop some (less visible ones) on her this week and see how she goes.


These ones are also slightly too narrow for her thicc little pony ears, hence the face

Well thats plan A anyway. I'm running on empty and should really be riding tomorrow morning rather than Wednesday as got Panto with the grand kids Wednesday eve and wit an early start I risk falling asleep during it

Did a hack AND a quick trot in the school after and she was super! Well, she was a bit of a bitch on the hack but that's standard. The mare we went with is big but not bay and she only falls in love with big bay mares and she has to trot a bit to keep up which is humiliating.

Ace ended up in the garden and I decided to give the dog a haircut so ended up just doing some in hand work with Ace which was good craic!

At this point just trying to survive til the Xmas hols..
Hopefully ride after work tonight and who knows when else this week. Not afraid to admit to being a fair weather rider at the minute! Luckily my horse is too and she picks up where we left off no matter how long she's been off

A better week for me after the chaos of last week!

Yesterday was a day off after the relentless rain, I did venture down with intentions of riding but I was sopping wet from wrestling with round bales in the torrential rain, K was also still sopping wet and his rug was sopping wet... so I decided to call it a bad-job for the day and leave him to dry out. Went home for a chippy tea instead

Slightly more dedication today I was up and on him for 6:30am and we did a quick 30 mins in the school, he's still unnervingly quiet (this horse is normally absolutely batsh*t over winter) but I'm not questioning it as he seems fine in himself, so enjoying being able to get some productive work done rather than clinging on for grim life and spooking dramatically every 5 seconds. We had a very sweet little schooling session despite his lack of enthusiasm.

Away with work from lunchtime today until tomorrow evening.

Thursday we are at the water treadmill.
Lesson booked for Friday

Then likely a weekend of hacking.

I really need to clip him as he is a sweaty mess after riding but I am not mentally prepared for the crazy again just yet...maybe in the new year

I had to be back home and on a work call for 9am and had the retired ones to see to afterwards so it was 6:30am or nothing and I am SO determined not to lose another week of riding was very pleased with myself afterwards though
