SHEEP WHERE ARE YOU DON'T GIVE UP

I rode on a Monday, which I never do. Was rewarded with enthusiasm, vim and vigour! No spooking even in the wind, beautiful stretchy trots, little pings into canter as if this isn't the pony that has struggled with canter literally always.

The Plan
Tuesday: Try and sneak out early for another hack this evening as it is to be DRY
Wednesday: Looking like rain again so easy groundwork day
Thursday: Pray it stays dry, I need a lesson, please please please
Friday: Sneaky hack again?? Some light time theft? For the girls??? 👀

Next week I probably won't have to do time theft to hack in daylight! We are nearly there folks!! ✨✨✨

Golden pony thoroughly enjoying her arena eventing on Sunday.
Last year I started the season at 90cm and scared her(With a trekehner) so this year I opted to move her back down to 80cm and shes thriving.
Her showjumping has always been easy for her, but she can be a bit wimpy xc.
I love how shes now feeling/looking more confident in this phase. 😍

Mon - Day off
Tues - Freddy Steele Lesson in evening
Wed - Day off
Thurs - Travel to midlands
Fri - Sean Coleman clinic

Although I'm still half waiting for an email to say the clinic is postponed due to the weather, if it goes ahead, it will be Fri-Mon.

Lovely to see some of you cracking on
It’s half term this week so time will be snatched but plan is:
Yesterday - teen daughter did 45 mins groundwork, eg in- hand walking, trotting up and also lots of stetching movements
Today - I’m heading up shortly for an hours solo hilly hack really hoping he less spooky and nappy than at the weekend
Wednesday - standie has the physio out for the first time, really looking forward to her advice as he’s definitely one sided, which isn’t uncommon for ex racers I believe?
Thursday - longer hack with friend on her birthday
Friday - both my 2 have the dentist
Saturday - rest day
Sunday - 20km pleasure ride

Hello helloooo! Thank you @smolmaus for starting the thread 😃 I was absolutely dying on Monday - floored by some gross lurgy 🤧

No big plans here either, survival mode ongoing lol but our main DIY work in stables should finish on Saturday, so hopefully next week will yield the start of some progress 😃

Had another fab lesson last night, Amber is on top form at the moment. Tried out her new myler snaffle and mecate reins setup and she was so funny, more expressive between showing off when it was easy and being unsettled in her head and neck when it wasn't. All very useful as easier to reward to good and gives breaks as needed. Even managed a pretty much perfect flying change, the only problem was it wasn't asked for. :D But it's good to know it's there. Currently I'm still not a fan of rope reins but I think I'll be using them for the majority of the clinic so should get the hang of it.

Hack yesterday COMPLETED IT, just a quick one as companion slipped on the road and was a bit unsettled as a result 😭

Weather has turned worse again and more heavy rain forecast so that's a day off today for Moo!

Also, not a "this week" training thing but have booked a series of seminars on equine communication with our instructor. Not everything will be new to us but a few friends are going so should be cute and fun! 🎉

I’ve schooled 3 days in a row to avoid the -3° sleet tomorrow morning. Never would do normally so tried really hard to work on completely different things. He’s been very good in all fairness to him! And thankfully my lorry has passed it’s MOT clean as a whistle so I get that back in time for training later in the week 😄

I had my lesson!!! And in DAYLIGHT 🎉🎉🎉 Amazing how many of my bad habits crept back in over 4-5 weeks 😂 but productive! I am back on a more even keel 💕
