Weekday Plans - w/c 8th Dec

Popped the hooligan over to my friend's again yesterday (she needs a big thank you pressie for xmas). Supposed to be a jumping lesson but instructor poorly so we played around with the course she'd popped up. Behaviour impeccable but I just need to concentrate on keeping him going after a fence - we sort of go flat.

Hiding from the mizzle in my car watching him chase the flock of starlings which keep landing in the field - he's like a bouncy labrador puppy!!

Final comp of the year ✅ Second Inter 2 ✅

Made some costly mistakes - walk wasn’t great and the piris were correct but I rushed them (did get better passage piaffe and trot ext though!). Got the stupid medium canter flying change over X! Mistake beginning of 1’s then we got the full line. Chuffed with 65% and a win out of 2. He gave me a lovely warm up.

Fortunately the allergic reaction to having my hair dyed the previous night waited to kick in until the journey home and by the next morning I was in a&e with a face so swollen my eyes were forced shut and hives all over my body. I’ve scratched myself so hard I’ve drawn blood 🙈 I can only liken them to chickenpox where you cannot stop scratching, it hurts in equal parts to scratch and to not scratch!!! Awful! But feeling mostly ok today.

We are done competing until a few weeks into 2026 now. Rooni will have a few easy days then back to training. Big goals for next year!

Looking fabulous and congrats on the inter 2! Shame about the mistakes but still sounds like a really solid performance - well done!

Hope you recover soon from the allergic reaction, it must be awful.

We did manage a ride yesterday and today 🥳

Just hacking with a friend but made the most of the dry weather and did 4 miles yesterday and 7 miles today including a jaunt through the local flooded ford - K LOVES water, we never have any issues with water jumps as he can’t wait to get in and splash around 😆

Looking at my work schedule I should be able to ride tomorrow (if I brave the monsoon we’re forecast) and Tuesday morning before I have to travel for work for a couple of days. Then water treadmill Thursday and lesson Friday.

So feeling more positive we are getting back into a bit of a routine 🤞🏻

Friday I managed a 50 minute schooling session, with some exercises set up from a previous lesson to mainly work on keeping balance and control through his left shoulder. He worked really hard with improvement from us both from our lesson so super pleased ❤️

Saturday was a 14km hack. Only in the flipping sunshine ☀️Today was an 8.5km hack in the dry at least! As always, he was SO loving being out ❤️🙏Screenshot_20251214_175134_Gallery.jpg

I'm pretty convinced the main motivation is not to end up solo hacking but because I can't be bothered to groom properly 😅 she does a great my little pony impression.
