I have been dying for someone to start the weekend plans thread because I finally have something to contribute after being sidelined for an eternity! But no one has, that I can see…!

So…I’m going to a polework clinic tomorrow! Baby’s first outing, so literally anything might happen! We have done a practise trip in the lorry. I have also got some Pimms and microwave chips and will be watching Badminton TV 😄

My horsey plans have been scuppered this week. Was going to go to Badminton grassroots on Wednesday but did too much Tuesday so rested instead. Then yesterday I thought I was going hacking at Cirencester Park in the sunshine, but turned out I wasn't booked in. Which was just as well because I spent all of yesterday with food poisoning! I'd like to be well enough to go out and enjoy the sunshine tomorrow but if not will be signing up for Badminton TV and parking myself on the sofa!

Joining in here for the first time in aaaaages (high five catembi!)
You guys probably don’t recall but my horse had a tendon injury two years ago, ended up having surgery in June 2022.

On Sunday we are off to our first party since Feb 2022 😃 off to a local venue for a spot of dressage, planning to prance around Prelim 1 and not disgrace ourselves 😃 very excited to get out again.

Oooh I'm busy too! I've had the week off and it's been sunny for once - it's a standing joke in my family that my holiday plans bring on the rain

I've done two trips out to Cholsey with the ponies. Solo hack for the microcob who was very bouncy (cantering down hill 😳) but massively ran out of puff coming uphill - but I think she loved the change of scenery. She's off to the reschedule charity ride on Sunday so I'm hoping she paces herself a bit better in the heat.

Baby cob is 6 today!! I think he'll be the baby forever though. He was very bouncy in his escorted birthday ride on Wed and is off to poles tomorrow. We've been doing loads of work trying to stop him hanging on the left rein and it's nice to take some tips from my straightness training for soundness clinic last week into my own riding.

And then it looks like it's rain and mud again from Monday 🙄

I've had a lesson (pony was fab 😍), spectated (and shopped) at Badminton and will spend the weekend hacking in 24° temperatures and sunshine - a short-ish one tomorrow of probably only about an hour and a half (want to try to watch most of the XC) but have a longer ride planned Sunday. It's also a family birthday so celebrations in between!

Trying to ignore the weather from Monday onwards ...

Very early ride on Dusty in the freezing cold, gah when will spring finally arrive consistently. Now heading to New York and intend to mix great food and lots of wine with watching badminton on replay! Although hoping to watch the SJ live hangover allowing 🤣 looking forward to 4 days of absolutely no horses, and also some time in the desert albeit for work early next week.

I love hearing about baby cob but never see any photos!!! Do I miss them on another thread somewhere? Sounds like you are very patient with him.

Another successful trip for me and my lovely exracer. This time to the gallops! Sooo much fun, didn’t get to go full pelt but had a good blast! It was such a lovely day and he was such a good boy!
No one to take pics (was with a friend but she was on her horse!) so here’s a behind the ears on the lovely walk down to the gallops 😎

I get fed up of trying to upload photos on here. They're either too big or it doesn't recognise them as a photo 🙄 He's due a bath and a tidy up so perhaps I'll battle the photo gremlins then!

He's cute = gets away with being a hooligan 😜

Re photos...I have got an app called Compress. It's really easy to compress photos. It means that I can only post using my phone if I want to add photos, but it does work. In the rare instance that it doesn't, I just compress the photo again.

We had a fantastic polework clinic. Travelled fine there & back, no neighing, no histrionics, just got on with it. Sooooo rideable, even though she's such a baby...4th birthday was today & it was our first trip out. It couldn't have gone any better. I was so scared beforehand as you never know what's going to happen with babies. I was hoping that she wasn't going to make like an ejector seat...and she didn't!

If you do from iPhone you can usually change the size to medium and compatible and it works! But it’s defo a pain 🤣

Another option is to put it on facebook (either in an album or send it to yourself in a message) and then save it back onto PC/mobile from FB. Never yet not had that work!

It was a huge day for me! I got on Blue for the first time since I fractured my spine coming off her in November!

It was so good to be back on board, albeit rather scary. A friend walked round the school with me, and then I called it a day. Now to get her saddle checked so we can start doing some light hacking and see how it goes. (I hopped on today in a bareback pad, but I want stirrups if I'm leaving the school!)

Many thanks to Tiddlypom for lending me her Equibands, which have been brilliant for building up Blue's muscle.

I'll try that. When I post on Instagram it saves a smaller version but this forum doesn't recognise those photos for some reason.

I think I've just cooked the microcob. Lovely charity ride this morning, lots of woods but a sticky journey home even though the fan was on in the lorry. She's just stomped off into the field without waiting for her polo - I'm in trouble!!

Pippity that's fabulous news and hopefully onwards and upwards now

Got my boy out to dressage today… last outing was in Feb 2022, his injury was in March 2022 so it has been a long journey, but one we’ve sort of intentionally taken at a snails pace 🐌

Could not be happier with him. He travelled nice & quietly, warmed up like a pro even though it was quite busy and was an absolute superstar in our test. Finished on 74.74% which was way beyond my goal, I was aiming for 65ish, and the icing on the cake was the red rosette at the end.

I may have cried after my salute lol.

This horse is such a special boy, an absolute angel ❤️ so grateful to him & for him, he’s just fab… he’s also a giant thug but I have a blind spot when it comes to him 😂

Well done Sheep & well done Pippity!

We went on a hack today...!!!!!!!!!! She was 4 yesterday & she has been here for 10 days... I have no-one to hack with as I keep mine at home. OMG, to start with, she was sooooo looky & kept trying to rush off! I notionally had o/h with me on foot to give her someone to follow & give her confidence, but she was really marching out & I didn't like to make her wait in case she started creating, so we were on our own. The first km was no fun...so looky, one or two plants, really onward bound & wanting to zoom off, but then she gradually started to relax. At about 1.5 km, two pheasants flew up in her face & I would have forgiven her if she'd spun round & b*ggered off, but all she did was sort of go 'oh!' and take one step back. She got more & more relaxed the further we went. On the road, a pigeon flew out of the hedge & nearly hit her in the face, & again it was just 'oh!' and a step back rather than histrionics. We also had to go past a load of heras panels with flappy tarpaulins attached...!

So, yeah, we did nearly 6.5 km alone, saw a motorbike, 2 pheasants, a flappy noisy pigeon & some really horrible flappy heras panels & arrived home still alive! What a good baby!

Some fab days - Sheep your horse is gorgeous and well done. We went showing again, good placing in a very strong class with another qualification. I let horse down a bit in the trot up for the judge - need to learn to run faster. Was borderline too hot for me and him but fortunately bits of shade around.

@Sheep - I very much do remember you and your big horse! It's great to see him up and running again, I always enjoyed your posts.

Chilli has been a bit quieter than usual the last few days (aka not as annoying and in my face as usual!), hopefully just the sudden warmer weather and nothing more sinister. He's been great to ride though - we had a dressage lesson on Friday focusing on relaxation and he was great, new trainer to us who said he's 'an impressive horse'. Hacked on Saturday morning then a spot of Badders on TV before lunch and a walk with old friends, then a much-needed spa day yesterday!
