Hurrah, the weekend is in sight!

What is everyone up to?

Kira has a show tomorrow, late start and first go at a 'proper' PSG, as in not a PYO :p some dressage stars entered in the GP later that evening so the warm up is sure to be intimidating again

Better try and take Salty somewhere :wink3: probably just arena hire down the road... last time we went there she buckarooed the full length of the arena when someone appeared with a dog so that will be fun :D esp as they now have banners...

Lesson for K on Monday.

Have fun everyone :) We're forecast endless rain for the next week so I'm really hoping they are wrong :p

Thursday, wow, that's great news!!

I don't have firm plans yet, but will take the big idiot out somewhere to do something :p I should get on with competing him really, but his canter still lacks real security so I don't quite have the belief in the quality of canter I might get to push on up the levels. If I can get his canter to be the good version a higher percentage of the time I can then take him out and comfortably do a medium test, but I'm not sure how far off that is so feel like I need some long arena hire to work it out.

Good luck with K - hope the warm-up isn't too imposing... Just remember, you may be closer to the ground, but that just means you have more oxygen

Have fun everyone!

I'm fence judging at Bradwall on Saturday and then Sunday it's a nice pub lunch with share horse's owner and her other sharers, followed by a hack.

Nothing incredibly exciting chez IHW. An arena hire and a gallop session.
Tuesday I’m hoping to squeeze in a lesson as instructor is in this neck of the woods for Badders.
Got next week off for that little local event which is always good fun!

I'm off to try some horse archery...could be interesting. Not quite sure how my mare will cope given her high survival instincts and need to inspect and snort at anything 'unusual'!

Hope everyone has a great horse filled weekend.

Good luck with the PSG, MP! And for getting back on, PM!

Have fun with lessons, pub lunches and fence judging dd, Lexi & IHW :)

Nothing planned for B this weekend - I'm still having a severe slump in motivation so I got trainer to ride for me last night. Turned out to be fairly exciting as there were some definite steps of half pass and comments of "this horse will passage", so wondering if trainer fancies taking the ride :P

I am fence judging at Chilham on Sunday which I'm looking forward to. An easy weekend for us here.

Have fun, everyone.

I can add to this, sort off! lol,

Breagha has her first showing show of the year on Sat and Sun. On Saturday she is doing two in hand classes with the girl that is riding her for me and then she is doing her very first working hunter class - only 60cm for her first time out and my husband is riding her.

Sunday - the girl that rides her is taking her into a ridden turnout class (to get her confidence up riding in front of people as you only need to look pretty in this class) and then husband is doing two ridden classes with her. The two ridden classes will depend on how she is feeling on the day as we have been having some head shaking issues when being ridden.

Good luck to everyone.

Good luck and have fun everyone this weekend :)

I am hoping to go XC schooling on Saturday, if the weather is kind, and I have booked a grass dressage arena on Sunday to practice for our eventing outings - I'm almost as excited about that as about the XC schooling after a great lesson last night! I am hurriedly buying up the entire stock of studs in the local tack shop mind you.....

Good luck with the PSG MP!!

Plans involve trying to fit riding around work and the farm having an open weekend, so being full of the general public during the day! :( May not manage to ride on Saturday but hoping for an early morning hack on Sunday before the floodgates open. Fingers crossed! Very boring, but nearly ready to start cantering so maybe actually getting out and about will be on the horizon soon too!!

First trip out in the bargain box on Sunday to run through our tests in a short arena ahead of our first competition next weekend 😬

I have a show for my Connie pony on Saturday (and small WH if we can get up earlier), and my 6yo son has his first PC tetrathlon on Sunday... He is very excited :)

Good luck to everyone out competing! And eek at the proper PSG, good luck MP! Good to see you're getting back onboard PM, I hope it goes well.

I'm off to Kent to visit my brother and sister-in-law so nothing exciting horse-wise. Hoping to get back in time to go for a long hack with Pocholo's new loaner on Sunday pm but that's it really! May is looking busy though :)

Nothing much for me and Amber. After the excitement of Kelsall last weekend, we are having a quiet week!

Show jumping for the ponies. Trying to qualify Ginny for Trailblazers 2nd rounds in May. Max has already qualified at 75 and 85. So Ginny needs double clears to join him. Fingers crossed!! She jumped clear last time out but that was for NSEA so was not a qualifying round and time before that she got 4 faults. Last chance now..... She is flying at the moment so hopefully.....

Oh and I MIGHT be buying a box. Super, super excited about that!!!!

My 4yo jumped her first course this morning :)
It was her first time away from home as well, and she took everything in her stride. I’m very pleased with her - think she could be a cracker.

I have a lesson with a BD judge this afternoon and then my usual lesson with my dressage trainer tomorrow. We’re having another go at m75 next weekend and im starting to think it’s my bogey test - I just can’t get it to go smoothly. :(

Good luck to all our competing. :)

Your horse is GORGEOUS.

Good luck everyone competing.

Quiet one for us this weekend - jumping lesson on Sunday but that's about it :)

Disappointing as this should have been our first ODE but lack of jumping training and XC schooling over the last month we will postpone that until the next one at the same venue in June.

Super video BM, looking fab :) you must be chuffed.

^^ there's a reason it's the regionals test, don't be too hard on yourself. I can still remember the first time that M75 felt easy to ride, and it was on a horse that had been doing medium for quite a while :o I used it as a benchmark with Kira too, and she was already starting AM before I felt like we could cruise around the floorplan just enjoying it. When it all slots into place it's a really nice test but it's definitely not straightforward at the beginning. So don't be too disheartened.

Are you thinking of Laurel view?? I didn't know there was another one in June..

Something for me and Fionn to aim for perhaps :0

Getting Sir Sicknote the Clyde home from the riding school where he's been lazing about with an abscess for the past month - had to be kept clean and dry so he's been living in their indoor school and posing for selfies with small children. I've visited him every day but it's not the same, so really looking forward to having him back where he belongs.

Dressage Sunday on one of the school horses for a yard event. We did a novice test last time, but as it's not open to the public this time, they written their own test for different lesson groups. Rein back is fine, but I can live without 10m trot circles!

Good luck everyone, and keep dry.

None for me, my tow car is on a sick note, and everything's up in the air until we can find out what's going on with it (or rather, with the mechanics :rolleyes3: ).

So it'll be hacking, hacking, fast work and more hacking for the ponies, who need all the work they can get at this time of year. And hacking, schooling and the like for Skye. All of which sounds very unappealing given the weather forecast :eek3:

Yes - or it might be July! But there is another usually in the summer :)

The one this weekend has now been cancelled anyway due to ground conditions being too wet.

Some fun things planned, hope everyone has a good weekend. Like the idea of the archery in particular!

Think it will be a quiet one for me. Jumps are up in the grass field so will have a spin round here tonight. So nice not having to put them up yourself! Not riding on Saturday but will probably do a long hack Sunday, but might also look for a lesson somewhere as have a bit of a hankering to get out.

I'm hoping to be out to a hunter trial on sunday. We haven't been XC for over a year, but she loves her jumping, and her attitude is completely different these days so shouldn't be problem. Would be nice to get one of the others to the canter track for a session, but think that might be left for during the week. Good luck everybody!

Good luck MP with PSG.
Archery sounds fun (I’d be scared of shooting the horse’s ear or something).
Hope everyone else has a good weekend.
We have our fortnightly flatwork lesson with the new BD instructor on Saturday. On Sunday we are going to a local XC in the 2’9” class. Main aim is keeping him from tanking. We did same class in autumn and came in about a minute too fast despite me trying to go steady!
If you want a giggle here is a video of us arena eventing earlier in the month.
I know my position needs improving, BD instructor says I was sitting too far forwards putting him on the forehand.

What I love about him is how genuine he is and how much he loves his job :)

Ps Sorry video didn’t embed so I’ve removed it, will try again....

Our weekend plans have had to be cancelled. Both our stallion and his full sister should have been jumping at le Mans but four days of top class SJ cancelled owing to an outbreaks of EHV in Sartre and Maine et Loire - too bad for the organisers, thousands of engagements.

We have had two outings so far this season including first time at 1.15M for Antigone our mare at Haras du Pin a week ago. We will post the video soon. She jumped brilliantly but had four faults in the first element of the double, we cannot work out why from the video. She jumped very well in training at the Pro yard two days ago. I will post video over the weekend but there are some good Pro photos of them both on https://www.facebook.com/racerarehorses/.

Frustratingly we don't know when we will compete again as more competitions may be cancelled.

That’s a shame Rollin. Update is that I’ve got company for a sponsored ride on Sunday, don’t enjoy going on my own, so doing a nice fun ride fairly nearby at the gaddesdon estate which is lovely. Of course it’s now started raining
