Oh no what's wrong with Louis? Sorry if I have missed it elsewhere.

no i haven't posted about it yet as i've just been a little stressed with the whole thing. He's such a sound horse normally but it seems like problems all come at once! Firstly was all the wheezing and coughing at the BD nationals which finally came right after some rest. Then his hock that was slightly swollen two weeks ago suddenly ballooned up on Monday and he was clearly sore on it. Had vet up and it appears he has an infection from a mud fever wound (mud fever at this time of year!
) and he's on antibiotics and a course of bute. Vet says to keep him working to keep the blood circulating but to take it easy until it goes down. So we've just been doing gently hacks for the last week. Last night when I was up I noticed that a big lump has come up on his belly...I'm up again this evening and hoping it's just a fly bite that he overreacted too. Poor Loops is in the wars
Oh poor boy, never heard of mud fever in this weather but they do like to throw new things at you. Fingers crossed he feels better soon. My dressage is also on hold at the moment as I have no saddle for another month or so. I'm concentrating on sidesaddle and am actually popping a few jumps (not sidesaddle I'm not competely mad!). Sending positive vibes to your boy!
It might be in the air as i've been miserable and blue all week
But... i am really looking forward to the show we are doing on Saturday
I'm doing condition and turnout, section d (although there isn't much point as the competition round here is phenomenally stiff! but it's nice to go round with them all)! Then i'm doing Mountain and moorland and riding club horse and prelim 14! Phew! I can't wait- get to wear silly amounts of new stuff that I got for Christmas- new ariat boots, new jacket (the one i posted on here a month or so ago) new shirt and new tie. It will probably rain and I may fall off and then it will not be so fun!
