Sorry the need to post has taken precedence over the need to do any work here ;)

I’m so looking forward to this weekend, I’ve given myself a Marie Ryan jumping clinic for my birthday on Saturday. Then in the afternoon I’m off to walk the course for Sunday, a teeny hunter trial at Deer Park XC course which is local to me - I was lucky to be able to divert to this after my ODE was cancelled It should be fun, Jensen hasn’t seen an XC fence for a few months, but he can step over these from walk so I’m hoping we’ll have a giggle :)

Good luck and have fun for all those out and about this weekend :)

Happy birthday, Lev! Enjoy your clinic & HT, am sure Jensen will have no problem with itsy bitsy jumps :)

I'm off for some XC schooling at Lodge Farm on Saturday. After our eventing training day out was snowed off last weekend :( that's been rescheduled to May (!) so will be nice to get out and have a play.

I've not ridden at all this week (and won't until Saturday! B has been exercised, though) as I had my eyebrow microblading topped up on Tues so I'm not allowed to get hot & sweaty :D plenty of walk breaks for me, then!

Good luck and have fun to all others :)

Happy birthday :) Sounds like lots of fun :D

Back to back trips to Kings Equestrian for me :p

Kira is doing A105 in the PYO class, first time I'll have chosen to just do one test with her so I'm hoping her dazzling enthusiasm(no, really ) during the last couple of weeks will continue. I just don't think she will have enough petrol to do 2 tests when one of them is so full of stuff, and it will be a good test for just doing a PSG in the future.

Then Salty is doing Prelim 15 the following day. I'm really hoping I can go first :eek3: anxiously waiting for times now.

In between all that just the normal weekend stuff, got another horse to ride, visit the old dears in the field to administer wormer, go home and wash all the wormer out of my hair... you know, that kind of thing.

Happy Birthday! I like the idea of buying yourself a pressie - makes sure you get what you want!

Possibly, hopefully doing the polework clinic tomorrow that was cancelled when the first lot of snow turned up. Not entirely sure pony is 100% sound so will assess tomorrow and see if I can steal something if she isn't.

Ooo me me!

Looks like we're all taking over from MP as I have a weekend planned to rival her's for busyness!

Tonight baby Skylla is off for a lesson, she isn't being trusted with super duper instructor extraordinaire as I cannot afford to take both her and Topaz :o... So I'm inflicting her on Steph instead ;).

Saturday Topaz is going out to do M75 (fingers crossed for our last regional points) and AM85, nice and easy so we can test out test changes now she seems to be getting to grips with them.

Sunday Topaz is off to the re-arranged Di Breeze clinic :).

To add, Happy Birthday Lev and I'm sure Kira and Salty will pull their socks up MP!

Happy Birthday for Saturday Lev! It seems not only are we both greyhound lovers, but also share a birthday!

I'm starting the weekend early as I've booked tomorrow off work to go look at a couple of horseboxes, so tonight I'm taking M to a local arena hire with a friend. The venue in question is one we're competing at in May so want to get a few trial runs in beforehand as it's known for being quite a spooky venue. Saturday we've got a lesson with our trainer and then I've booked myself a massage in the afternoon before we have some friends over to celebrate. Sunday will be spent recovering, taking M out for a hack and possibly viewing another horsebox depending on how tomorrow goes.

Good luck to all those out and about this weekend!

Good luck to those competing over the next 3 days :)
Low key plans for self, prob just hacking about, got to go to RC field Sat lunchtime to help get equiptment out for the summer, might pop over to a local yard for c/round sj sunday, weather permitting :)

Happy birthday Lev! Enjoy clinicing and HT

Very exciting that Kira is on a jazzy high at the moment MP :D good luck at this weekend's comps

Hope you manage to get to the clinic SEL

Sounds like you've got an achey Monday in store Ah :p good luck at the comp.

Quiet one for me, just a lesson on Sunday. Other than that we have a backlog of a thousand or so jobs that need doing around the place (including replacing stable barn roof as the snow in December put a dirty great hole in it), so will make a start on those.

Have fun everyone, plenty of pics please :D

Haven’t quite decided yet last weeks weather has messed up most plans.
Giant was due to run in Beaufort TC which got postponed to this weekend, but I’m at Gatcombe that day so I’ve pulled him out.
Need to find him an outing on Saturday, he is pencilled in to xc school if the course opens (doubtful), if not I might try and squeeze him into a poles clinic or get a dressage lesson. Failing that we will go up the gallops! All hinges on XC really

Happy birthday for Saturday FF :) I love the idea of your massage, I might have to book one of those too :D

Hoping to hack both girls on Saturday if weather allows and do some trailer loading practice for the older one who decided to have a brat attack last time we loaded her. Then I'm off to an Introduction to Endurance classroom session in the afternoon.
Sunday, my older mare and I are going to our first Trec competition which will be hilariously bad (trying to repurpose her into a non-SJ career due to navicular diagnosis last year), then hoping to trailer my younger mare out to my old yard for a nice hack.

Been a bit rubbish with cancelled plans and comps over the past couple of weeks due to snow :(

I have a lesson this evening with a new dressage instructor I haven't tried before. Looking forward to that

Will jump at home tomorrow, hack on Sat and have dressage comp on Sunday- prelim 17

Just back from my lesson with new dressage instructor.

It was very very good and M went very well. We worked on really getting him into my outside rein, he has a habit of bending his neck a lot to the inside but then I lose his shoulders so we did some work with outside flexion to really get control of the shoulders and then allow the inside bend to come naturally whilst keeping the shoulders in line with the quarters. I have to really practise turning with my outside rein instead of pulling him round too much.

We had a look at 1/4 TOF which he did perfectly and then did a few steps of LY on a circle to really get the inside hind under the centre of gravity.

We also did some shortening of steps in trot and lengthening again without losing the frame and balance.

A lovely compliment is that the trainer said he would not want to be up against us in a competition because M is going very correctly with such a clear and consistent rhythm.

Happy me tonight - next lesson is in 2 weeks

Sounds exactly like one of my lessons, we have the same issues so do the same exercises :D but never had my trainer say that to me, what a lovely thing to say! Amazing.

I got my friend to have a little jump on B yesterday eve. She's much braver & skilled than I am so I like her to sit on him for a 'tune up' every now and then, especially over jumps. I only really jump 70/80 (max 90 on a good day at home!) so it's good for him for the jumps to go up every now and then. Plus he loves it.

I also keep trying to tell my dressage trainer about B's jumping canter. On the flat he can get a bit stuffy and shuffly when he's finding the work difficult. Put some jumps up and well, it's a different beast!

Some gratuitous photos, it was a lovely evening :)

Wearing Esky Smaragd Dura for anyone interested :D

We are back up and about after snow/broken truck/lambing/illness, been a hard few weeks. Horse had a few checks after his refusal and had some tightness so physio has been working on him and he is getting better and better by the day. Saddle also booked in to be checked.

Already started our weekend plans last night by venturing to evening dressage, came 4th which was generous as I rode awfully in the test. Went back in the warm up after and he produced some much more relaxed and forward canter work so overall pleased.

A lesson at home today and out SJ training on Saturday with a friend, hiring a course for two rounds. We were meant to be doing a hunter trial on Sunday but “unfortunately” got waitlisted and didn’t get in. Not too disappointed as with the clocks going forward and a few bottles of wine at the hunt ball on Saturday evening I may have never made it!! :p

Happy birthday and good luck to all competing this weekend . I'm off to dressage tomorrow , it was supposed to be on last weekend but snow stopped it. I'm going caller free for the first time ever ! Papping my pants a bit , hopefully hoss will be a good boy so I can concentrate on remembering . It's just two intro tests , but I really struggle with my memory . Sunday , we are off to our very first para training day . Roped pops in for the journey as it'll be the furthest I've ever towed. Will have a 45 min lesson then a 45 min goal planning session . Don't really know what to expect so a little apprehensive . Think the goal planning will really help as I feel like I need a bit of a kick up the hiney.
Have fun everyone .

You really must keep us posted, I was thinking about you not so long ago (I think your name popped up as you'd posted on ROG's towing thread). Glad to hear your riding is going so well, good luck for the dressage & for the training day!

He looks lovely Embo! Happy birthday Lev and FF, hope you both have a good one. Good luck to everyone else, whatever your plans are!

Still nothing too exciting here... Pony in the final stages of healing leg wound and tooth not scheduled to come out till Tuesday so nothing interesting in the school till that's out and healed. Had a grand long hack on Wednesday so may try to squeeze another one of those in around the village. I'm determined for her fitness to return after this break of ours! Day off work today and tomorrow and teaching my second polework clinic on Sunday. The first one was a success even if I do say so myself! I do find it all a bit daunting but I'm encouraged by how well the first one went and so trying to take a little confidence from that. Positive vibes, please!

Thanks all for the lovely comments :)

Awww B looks fab Embo. Does it give you a bit more confidence to see him going so well?

Thank you! Yes it really does, I'm so glad I spent a lot of time getting my friend to event him before I started. Knowing that B can do it means I can concentrate more on what I'm doing, and lets me trust him to do his job.

Watching someone else ride/compete your horse isn't for everyone, but I personally love it. Not only does it give me more confidence knowing he can do the job, it also makes me feel proud to see him go so well (especially as I've done most of the hard work to get him going that way :D :P ).

We’ve had to cancel our original weekend plans as Raz had a reaction to being jabbed on Wednesday and could barely move his neck.

Thankfully he’s almost back to normal but I’ve had to cancel my lesson and have pulled out of going to BD tomorrow. We’re out the next two weekends in a row so I’ll give him a few extra days to recover before starting up again.

Henry had his first jumping lesson today. This was only my third time jumping him and I’m normally a bit of a wimp about jumping horses I don’t really know so I was pleased to get round a full course of around 85/90. He helped me out a few times but overall it was pretty comfortable so I think we’re starting to get the hang of each other. :)

We’re heading just down the road to Morris for clear rounds tomorrow morning so hopefully we’ll manage to do the same again with 4 out 5 of the horses - poor T has just started back in work so he can’t join in but can come along in the lorry for a day out.

Then I have another jumping lesson on Monday and my usual flat lessons on Wednesday.

Good luck to all those out competing. :)

Happy Birthday weekend Lev :)
It's my birthday on Monday, so I'm off up to London tomorrow to have a meal with some old uni friends in the evening. Unfortunately, it is also the day of the memorial service for the daughter of a very close family friend, who killed herself between Christmas and New Year. So I shall be attending that first, before I meet my friends :(

I'm so sorry HR, that is a very very sobering thought :( I hope you enjoy meeting up with your uni friends, for me that is completely separate to the other matter without showing any disrespect or anything!

We've been out three times this week already in the lorry for lessons/rallies, so have nothing specific planned for the weekend apart from a 'mock' pc rally tomorrow morning for son and his new pony at our place.

Might all go to the forest to ride on Sunday.

Gridwork lesson for me on Monday.

Good luck everyone competing 😁 I should pull my finger out and enter something, training is so much easier...

Happy birthdays Lev and FF :)!
Good luck to everyone out competing and I hope everyone has fun and enjoys their horses. Photos and reports are appreciated by those of us who can't ride.
I did have a very naughty sit on on Tuesday and have suffered since but it was worth it! OH thinks my jump saddle isn't helping the back pain and I agree with him so I'm casually dressage saddle shopping in the hope that a change of seat and position might make a difference.

I had a great jump lesson on the stolen pony today. I really feel like we are getting each other now. He didn't really jump much last year and he is 7" bigger and longer than my girl so it was a shock for both of us! I am so lucky to have him to keep me sane while L is recovering. Obviously plans for her are walking and more walking then try to trot but get leap, buck, bronc and back to walk . Can't wait until she can go out again and hopefully return to her version of sane

I'll read all the responses when I have time as just about to dash out on a shavings run. I totally forgot last night was going to be pony games! About 20 odd of us liveries and staff all in the indoor playing pony games to celebrate YOs kid's birthday. I stole one of our riding school ponies and she was absolutely fab. Glad to say our team smashed it and won! Took me a while to dry out after apple bobbing... Then food and drinks in the gallery. Loverly.

Here we are chilling between races in what might be the ugliest photo ever taken of me:D:D
