Weekend plans (sorry eventers)

Yeah to eventing Charlimouse - was that Oasby? Looks fab!

Well done Asha for first hack :D

My clinic was great yesterday - nothing was particularly big (nothing over 80cm) but was more technical. There was a corner which I was very nervous about, but it rode beautifully, a brush, and a skinny, and she built a nice course with some sharp turns and dog-legs. G started being a bit gobby but I handled him well and we flew it all - it was super! Sorry no pics :(

Yes I was at Oasby yesterday FJ I was amazed they were not even having to pull in or out they had over 1 1/2 ins of rain WEds/thurs . I spoke with SB who said Friday had even been in doubt till thurs mid morning ,it just shows how it dries up there !

good weekend so far, Millie still the right way up in the stable when we got back, so obviously not too much hunt activity up the road ;)

Kira did good - first test was a bit speedy but that's progress from the old days of kicking and booting for each stride, and the second test was loads better. 2nd place on 68.5 in the qualifier so good progress toward summer regionals. AND loaded first time for both outward and return journeys... She's come a long way :cool4:

Conquering my nemesis today Only taken me 7 years haha. When the pics are online I'll get a copy of our first attempt, my face is hilarious! We did it twice as tog wasn't sure he'd got the shot.

Omg Bernster I LOVE that photo what a fantastic jump and your face is brilliant, can see how much fun you're having.

We had a very long hack this afternoon, it was great fun, and very proud of Big G as he led the way past the donkeys while I prayed "please don't bray, please don't bray", and I've entered for combined training next weekend!

Mine does that too :D Photo from a few weeks ago, I asked for canter from sitting trot, got 4 strides of this and then a launch-and-leap.

No hacking for us this weekend, I got on Saturday and was promptly dumped. Vet coming out first thing Monday. I'm hoping it's just high spirits but she's been like this on and off since January.

Haha that's more like piaffe than my little cheat... This is the next photo in our sequence:

Also have serious charlimouse envy, and RAF Halton envy :p

I hope the vet confirms high spirits, DF. Fingers crossed.

my weekend plans got spoilt by horse coming in with fat leg on saturday thanks to a small boot rub i noticed on thursday after our hack on wet sand. poxy chestnuts with white legs and pink skin. He'll be fine but the weather was gorgeous today and so missed taking him out :(

Sorry, I didn't post about plans, but I did have a lovely play in the sun with Cassie and some raised poles today. Obviously now I need to try and recreate this under saddle!! ;)
She might be little, but she has some oomph! She also managed to drown a rat in her water bucket. I have visions of her picking it up by the tail and dunking it. :) x

Looking good!

Looks like everyone had fun in the sun, some great pics!

After my lesson and first horseball game being cancelled I decided last minute that I needed to get out and about in the beautiful Peak District!

We went for a few glorious hours with The Four Shires Bloodhounds.

Baby Brian was a bit like Zebedee for the first few lines but I was actually really proud of my young ex racer who stood, walked and came back from a flat out gallop in just a snaffle and cavesson nose band :)

I even strapped on my brave pants and jumped a few bits and bobs. Made up!

Super smart!

Our dressage was OK if we ignore me going wrong in not one, but two tests :p First test was prelim 13 which was somewhat under powered but accurate for 67% and 3rd. Novice 27 was a much nicer test with just a few issues in the half ten meter circles (i.e. the rider doesn't know what a circle smaller than 20m looks like ;) ) and I was pleased with 66% and 1st.

No pictures of the test but you can have some of D getting a bath, being plaited and then having a lovely hack on Sunday evening :)
