I'll start . . . tonight Z is trying a bunch of jump saddles on Kali . . . jump trainer has noticed that (now that we're routinely jumping a decent height) existing (and very much loved) jump saddle is actually firing Z out of the plate . . . so we're on the hunt for something more suitable. Fingers are firmly crossed.

Tomorrow Z will school him on the flat - after hunting, he could do with reminding that the preferred way of going is up and round rather than long and flat.

Sunday we are off to Wickstead for a XC clinic at Paul Tapner's place . . . can't wait! We had a SJ lesson with him in January and loved it . . . :).

So . . . what are you all up to this weekend?

P

P.S. In between, I will be Xmas decorating, cleaning and finishing up my Chrimbo shopping . . . oh, and chasing the unscrupulous so-and-so who took money from us to deliver wood/logs and is now ignoring us . . . grrrrr

So jealous of all you with your wonderful horsey plans! I will be mostly trying to keep my remaining shred of sanity while my house if overrun but many small children who are descending on it for daughter's birthday party tomorrow. On Sunday I will probably be rebuilding said house!

If I am very lucky I might get time for a quick hack on Sunday. Enjoy all! x

Sat : Hopefully sitting on my two girls who have had 4 weeks off due to me damaging my foot.... then bit of horsey Christmas shopping, mince pie and mulled wine, evening we will be putting the decorations up and having a few drinks...

Sun : Again sitting on my two girls, then some shopping and wrapping of presents.

Good luck all who are competing and rest of you have a good weekend...

Saturday - Workies until 2pm, then teaching friend on her horse on the way to yard. Yard chores, lunge 3yo, work T, ride/lead P & B - P fittening and B is on walking part of her rehab so it is handy to combine the two to save time.
Sunday - Lie in! Housework. Teaching at 11am then off to yard. Same programme as Saturday plus go see the yearling and take food & rug over for him. Out for meal with parents on the night.

Then three whole days off work Mon- Wed :D, conference Thursday during the day, back to work Thursday night for on-call :-(

Lesson on Sunday. Saturday just hacking as off to the ballet-eek Christmas has started! so nothing that exciting on the horse front!

Zoo to see Santa with my son tomorrow then Sunday was meant to be going to patchetts but following exchange of contracts yesterday on our new house the vendors have said that we can start moving stuff in on Sunday whilst they have the top window frames out (very old house, small staircase furniture through windows job!!) so horses are officially on holiday now until 2nd Jan!!

Was supposed to be at Trailblazers Working Hunter Quals tomorrow but cancelled due to high winds that are forecast

Luckily there is another showing and working hunter show elsewhere on Sunday that I'm going to do instead- ridden veterans and novice workers so hopefully won't get cancelled but just depends on weather as outdoors.

If cancelled will try and get some schooling on grass in ready for BE dressage next year!

both boys did a little bit of flatwork today to take the edge off before BS with Martin tomorrow.
Then Timbi is having Sunday off and my dad is riding the old boy for a change. He hasn't ridden him in a few months so it could be interesting. Jerry doesn't know he's semi-retired. :tongue3:
Beau will probably do a bit of flatwork on Sunday or I might do some poles to make him think.

I'm off to a dressage to music clinic tomorrow. Quite excited but also nervous in case we show ourselves up!

Sunday off for a gallop around the hills if the ground is ok

This afternoon/evening was spent doing chores mainly! Forked back the whole muck heap so it now looks lovely and tidy. Also did some ground work and walking slowly over poles, getting her hocks lifting up rather than dragging them. Then graded the school, lovely, level and and flat ready for my lesson tomorrow morning. On Sunday we are off to a dressage comp, first one in ages, and really looking forward to it!

In between bits, I shall be trying to find the last of my Christmas presents which need buying.

Competitive Trail Riding at a property called Dry Acheron, which is past Windwhistle and up near Lake Coleridge. Lord of the Rings country - need to camp out over night as too far to drive up in the morning. Doing the 40 km ride and hoping it isn't going to be too hot.

Ooh, I can join in for the first time! Monday is arena eventing schooling! Thought he'd enjoy getting out with a mate...and since its on a surface hopefully we won't fall over like last time when he got too excited! Pity I'm away in NI all weekend so he wont have been ridden beforehand!

Not in the least bit 'competition' but should be fun!

Tomorrow is my hen do :D Bit of a last minute wedding (booked two weeks ago). Best friend being VERY mysterious, all I know is that I will be taken somewhere for lunch, deposited at the stables where it is my intention to go for a steady hack or perhaps pop round the XC and then an even more vague description of a night out.

Sunday plans will depend on the extent of Saturday's frivolities ;) All things being well intend to take my son for a hack on his pony and poss ride mine again. Making the most of the horses before they need to go up for sale as we are moving overseas :(

Tomorrow I get to see my two do their first combined training competition, as I'm waiting on wrist surgery I don't have to arrive at stupid o'clock clock to the yard lol, get to arrive to the venue at a semi decent time:) would rather be riding myself but hey Ho no can do so will just have to sit back and enjoy watching :)

Sunday there is much excitement about, final week of jumping league for mini me and she has gone clear past two weeks in all her rounds so fingers crossed she can do the same this Sunday, also friend will be taking one of mine to jump aswell as no point in empty space in the box.

Good luck to everyone out competing this weekend x

Going to join in for the first time ever! On Sunday going to a local very very tiny show jumping competition! Jumping at the grand height of 30cm :D my goal is to win a rosette, so hopefully fingers crossed entering the clear round then competing in the 30cm class. Tiny I know but I'm actually really nervous! Last goal for 2013 :) but we'll just see how we go :)

It's nice to see some first-time competitors on this thread :)

I'm off to a local venue to do P7 and P14 with the ex-racer. To be honest I'm far more nervous about having to drive a lorry for the first time, than the actual riding! It's supposed to pour with rain after my second test, too... good job the tests are indoors just in case the rain starts early!

It's Frank and my first time being judged under BD rules together (we normally compete under Classical Riding Club rules) so it'll be interesting to see what we get. My mum is ill but determined to come along, so I'll sit her in the gallery with her camera and hopefully have a few photos to post next week :)

Good luck everyone, and enjoy yourselves!

Sadly working all weekend but I did have a most awesome lesson last night. Have started teaching orange horse half pass and changes and he did a lovely trot HP all the way across the long arena - couldn't believe it was him watching in the mirror. He tries so hard - love him!
