Saturday will be spent nipping into town to replace the three pairs of trousers I have ripped this week (one of which was my jodhpurs right down the crotch during my jumping lesson on weds :o ), watching Badminton XC and getting D ready for Isleham ODE on Sunday. Sunday will probably be spent doing a dressage test and then getting eliminted in the show jumping ;)

Have a good one!

Enjoy the dressage and fingers crossed for a CR.

Daisy has had two sessions with my SJ coach this week. She is storming over 90cm combinations and skinnies which she has worried about a bit in the past (skinnies could be my fault. She always jumps them but sometimes a bit oddly as not very keen). I think him riding will do her a lot of good.

My friend is hacking her tomorrow and Monday and my other instructor is schooling her Tues and Fri. I'm trying to lunge her on the days off but I've not always managed it because I'm lambing and still in a lot of pain and the flipping pain killers are making me sick as well.

Vid from yesterday. Quote of the lesson was when I said something about being a cob and coach said but she's not a cob she's a throughbred (obv, he thinks that's a compliment :D). God how I love this little horse!

Horses early and then I will dash home to watch the whole XC day from Badders on the red button with my feet up! My one guilt-free day of sitting in front of the tellybox per year. I'm so excited about that I haven't even thought about Sunday!

Umm, vallin what on earth have you been doing to your trousers?! Family time tomorrow, but hoping to fit in an early hack before lunch and watching a musical. Sad not to be at Badders and won't be able to watch it tomorrow either, grrrrrr. But having had the most amazing weekend away with the horse last weekend (riding holiday in Norfolk) I feel like I have to do the social thing on Saturday.

Sunday off to a sponsored ride, weather forecast is amazeballs so looking forward to a lovely day out, and possibly sunburn on my pasty face haha.

Our first ever ODE and it's a BE thanks to others being cancelled. Terrified doesn't even cover it!

Well my entire weekend will be a mix of playing with my foal, watching badminton (red button Saturday and live Sunday) and drinking copious amounts of alcohol at the variety of badminton parties!!

Whoop good luck.
Loading boot camp wasn't successful and we missed our event last weekend. Decided to take a break from competing and try and resolve it without the pressure of entries. So this weekend is hacking, practice and badminton on the red button.

Easy weekend for the oik this week - he's done quite a bit lately and had a lesson last night so we'll have a hack out and do some down time stuff this weekend. Plus we're off to Badders on Sunday so if I don't manage to ride before we go there's no chance after as I'll be looking for a nice cup of tea and a sit down :D

Fun ride on Sunday after vet has given his approval. Mostly walk and a little trot as he is on rehab but it will make a welcome change to do something a little different after months of rehab and the ground should have dried up nicely.

Really looking forward to it, partner and dog coming and we are taking a bit of a picnic with us :)

Good luck to those competing, hope to be there in a few months time :)

Off to California very early on Saturday and I won't be back until really late next Saturday so a whole week off doing horsey things . Don't know how I'll cope!
Sadly not even for a holiday, work related conference for a journal I've had a paper published in.

Horse will probably have the rest of May off as I've got my final exams, job interviews, and dissertation stuff going on until the end of the month.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend and photos and reports are required from all of you going competing! :)

Actually sounds more fun than holidaying, DF :D

I'll be hacking and watching Badminton tomorrow, and dressage lessoning Fergus with my awesome Portuguese chap on Sunday.

Need to find someone to shoe the little one before he gets to have any real fun though. Shame as he's really matured this year and actually looks quite smart.

I've got someone coming to try my big chestnut mare tomorrow, then I am taking my lovely 5yo jumping on Sunday. Can't decide whether to jump a BN and disco or a disco and her first NC!

friend coming over to hack out tomorrow early morning (one of my fun ride mates), then de-sludging Tiny Fuzzy, then home to watch badders.
Sunday v early hack or take FLF over to her owners to take part in a special event she is hosting - might opt out as forecast v hot & we dont 'do' hot

Not riding due to mare having a sore back :(

However, we do have a yard photoshoot that we won happening on Sunday, so bathing and plaiting and general faffing.

Also I imagine a lot of booze and badders viewing!

Do you want to go in my place? ;) They're flying me halfway around the world for a week so I can give an 8 minute presentation!
(If I've just outed myself to anyone reading who's also going please PM me so we can meet up and talk horses :p)

I hope Dae's feet get better soon :). Is it thin soles or another reason for shoeing?

At least you're going somewhere interesting. I got to visit such exotic locations as Harrogate and Edinburgh (which are both lovely, but both places I know well enough already!).

They just don't have sufficient integrity. His diet is very barefoot friendly, he gets turned out on various surfaces and good work on them, but unlike F's which are perfect, they're just rubbish. So shoes it is.

My weekend off work :)

So I'll be going training in the morning, then meeting a friend to hack out then going back home to cook dinner and chill in the flat in the evening.

Sunday I'm having my family round for tea so I'll spend the day cooking fresh soup for starters and preparing the main and hoping they bring wine and dessert with them ;)

This weekend

No riding until the fun ride on Sunday as I did a 2 hour hack today.

Tomorrow will be spent trying to watch Badminton but OH will need assistance doing household repairs.

"Pass me the spanner / pliers / hammer / saw."

I give OH the spanner / pliers / hammer / saw.

( pause )

"No, not that one, THAT one"
