So my weekend plans should be pretty good. Got my horse booked in for a group working hunter clinic. I won't be riding him though as I am not confident enough to jump him yet so a friend is riding him. But i figured it's a good learning experience for the boy and i can find out if he is suitable for hunters or not and what classes he could do for showing.

Might also get a lesson on sunday but not sure need to check my bank balance first.

What's your plans?

Must be a weekend for watching, I'm taking my boy to Coombelands on Sunday for my friend to do a couple of SJ rounds on him. I'll hack on Saturday morning I expect.

Hope your boy enjoys the wh clinic!
Good luck at the regional miss-c

Oh he will jennbags he is dying to do some proper jumping. Anytime he sees a jump he wants to go over it no matter how big it is. Hope your boy enjoys the sj.

Good luck miss c.

I'm currently still at the conference in California; 27*c and sunny so I've been spending all of my free time outside on the convention centre terrace :D.

Back in the UK Saturday evening so I'll be riding to try out my mare's new bit on Sunday, as well as going to view a new yard.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekends!

Well, after 9 months of heartache and hard work this weekend we're doing a dressage test!! My boy was very poorly last Sept with an infected pastern joint and it all came quite close to the wire a couple of times so we didn't know if he would ever be ridden again. But here we are!
It's only an intro test, we're not ready to do enough canter for a preliminary yet, at a new small venue but he will be shiny and polished and I will not stop smiling.

Heading to Keysoe tomorrow for the BD Senior Inter Regionals! Looking forward to the weekend but HATE the drive there!

I'm at Keysoe on Saturday too....but for an XC schooling lesson ;) :D Sunday will then either be a hack round the block or playing over some Le Trec style obstacles in preparation for D's Le Trec debut with JFDT and Fergus next weekend, eep!

Happy weekend peeps!

Good luck everyone!

Alfie and I are tackling our first BE novice tomorrow which I am both nervous and excited for, though got one last uni final which I think is why my nerves have traced fever point😂

Good luck everyone doing stuff!

I had planned on taking the anxious travelling Welsh to a local show tomorrow to support and do the clear round (only want to get him out travelling locally really) But they have postponed until June after this weeks weather :(

Will have to find somewhere else for him to go if i can.

May bath the old boy this weekend too

Sunday i have a 5mile race, before riding both ponios.

Quiet day tomorrow trying to de-swampify the oik and get him looking more white and brown than his current green and brown before a XC clinic at Boomerang on Sunday.
Then at some point I'm going to be digging out the bubble wrap and crash mat's as the wonkey donkey is no longer broken (in theory anyway) :D Had Loll rescanned yesterday and there's no sign of a hole in the tendon anymore so I can start to bring her back into work. She's been practising her rodeo skills in the stable and field recently so wish me luck!

Farrier tomorrow and a quick schooling session. Sunday we have a dressage competition and it will be my ex racers first attempt at prelim!!

Good luck to everyone and enjoy your weekend! X

Going to be a while before I can write anything interesting on here but we will spend the weekend hacking again, trying to get madam more forward and little less backwards and behind the leg. Other than that I might try and tidy her up a bit and do some more loading practice.

Good luck everyone :)

Still nothing for Daemon and me, although he's booked in for shoes on Tuesday, so then hopefully it will be all systems go :D Just have to hope he's not a complete tool for the farrier now!

Have fun! I'm sure he'd rather be going gallopy-jumpy though ;)

And Fergus and I had better have a run through of the same, and more importantly have a bit of a play with speeds / distance judging on hacks.

Non riding for me, boooo. Away for the weekend but hoping to fit in a ride on Sunday pm on the way back home. Have a few jump and dressage training sessions booked into the diary though.

The start of my weekends training...apparently everything needs to be narrower...eep!

Going for a tilting practice later today then probably just a local hack tomorrow.

Have a 16 mile training walk (me unfortunately not with one of the horses) in prep for the moonwalk so this is seriously cutting in to horse/riding time! Also had hoped to go down to BE Floors to see some friends go round but timings look like this not going to happen :(

Good luck everyone.

Quite excited today to see the horse jumping. It's nice seeing him be ridden by someone who isn't afraid to jump him. It is working hunter fences though which he has never seen before and in a grass field which he never rides in. But the teenager riding him is brilliant so he can cope. I hope at least i get a bit nervous when others ride him just incase they get hurt even by accident. I know my horse wouldn't do anything deliberate but it's still worrying. Maybe that's just me.

miss_c 99% certain I saw you at Keysoe, hope it went well!

D was horrible XC but I've just about forgiven her now as she was fabby fab fab to school through some more Le Trec obstacles today :)

Won our Advanced Medium 85 in a big class of 5 (at AM that is a big class and usually we're last of 2 or 3 so that was very exciting!). 2nd in our first go at AM91. 66.3% and 65.6% - very pleased with those scores! Super excited for our Advanced debut next weekend! Tailcoat time!

Clever D, vallin. She'll be a Trec pony yet!

Awesome - super scores and always nice to have a win! Good luck next weekend :)

Wow that's fab star, well done to you and the orange one!

My friend jumped G superbly today. He almost had her off in the warm up when he took exception to one of the corners, but after that settled down and warmed up beautifully. He then went into the arena and did his usual trick of panicking and getting his knickers in a twist, but she just told him to get on with it and stop being a div. They ended up in 4th place in the 80, but he had a silly pole down in the 90. I feel very happy about it, a few more outings like that and hopefully his confidence will be up enough for me to be able to take him out again.

As I wasn't riding today I did manage to take one or two photos (almost 200 oops!) so here are a few of my favourites.

Well done star great dressage scores.

Aw he looks awesome JennBags. Bet your friend enjoyed those rounds with him. :)

Super pics, JB! Clever chap :D

Thanks JFTD.

Hmm not particularly, I did pick and choose the best shots, he was an awkward git most of the time but that's why I've asked her to take him out for me, as she's got the confidence and skill to ride him on when he's titting about.

LW, Lola looks great, you sound like you had tons of fun!

So took the Oik to Boomerang for a RC area lesson with Dani Evans and have to say he's earned a name :)
He was the least experienced horse in our group and was a little star, the only fence we had a slight issue with was ditch palisade which was entirely me as the last time I jumped one I managed to tip up and I hate them at the best of times, so for my sake as much as his I wanted to jump it and we did after a couple of tries where he went "you don't want to jump this" and I replied "not really no" so he didn't :o then I found my brave pants and he jumped it 3 times in the end without a problem. He jumped all the rest of the scary fences first time including a swan and a dinosaur  plus a log in the water and the owl hole out of the water - neither of which he's done before.
Piccy over the swan
