This weekend D and I are accompanying JFDT at a Le Trec competition - not convinced we're going to manage it without getting lost/forgetting something vital/one of the horses escaping their corral but I'm sure it will be an amusing weekend regardless ;)

Hope you all have an awesome weekend,

V

I can't imagine why you would think those antics would befall you while on an outing with JFTD 🤔

Daisy has another jumping lesson with my coach riding her tomorrow and I might actually sit on her in walk afterwards and see how painful it is or it isn't...

I don't know what you mean, FW! :p

I am taking both the heir and the spare, so the chances of something escaping are actually very high...

How are you getting on FW?

Good luck vallin, I'm sure JFTD will look after you well

My friend is taking G to a ODE on Sunday, we went xc schooling today and they were fab but our travelling buddies didn't get on so well, she had a fall and is currently in a&e waiting for an x ray :( I doubt she will be riding for a whole, almost certainly not by Sunday.

I may even get to hack my horse out on Saturday if I'm lucky!

Would not end well, JB :eek3:

Hope G is a good boy on Sunday, and your friend/travelling buddy today is ok.

My electric fence battery is currently charging and I've dug out the energizer so fingers crossed it wont be mine!

I am doing my first dressage test in top hat and tails on Saturday. Unbelievably excited! A little bit nervous too!
Then for a bit of fun we're going for a spin round the BE100 at Tweseldown on Sunday.

Ooh sounds like fun fun fun. Good luck on all your outings. Look forward to your reports and pics. Specially in tails!

Hoping to go watch a friend ride on Saturday at some swanky dressage festival, then taking the boy to xc course hire locally on Sunday.

Ooh sounds like an exciting weekend I'm looking forward to reports of Daemonic behaviour :D
We've got a quiet one, I was considering going to some SJ on Sunday but Mike jumped really well at the venue tonight so having seen the forecast won't bother. I need to start learning our dressage test for the following weekend - the bit that scares me the most and the least practised

Photo's please and good luck.

We are not out at the weekend, Ted The Twit is on his holibobs for a fortnight as his conformation resembles a ski jump at present. His girlfriend Adorable Alice is poised to make her maiden voyage into the dressage arena on Tuesday evening at Solihull Riding Club's beginners dressage show.

She is not overly keen on travelling despite loading perfectly, so we are going early to avoid the judge thinking we have done 3 circuits of the xc course before doing the test with her. All I hope for is sensible behaviour and at least try to stay in the arena.

This weekend I'm away to Haydock Park working tomorrow, then a harness racing meeting at Tir Prince tomorrow night (working again) and then Sunday we're taking Cassius and Stevie to Corbiewood for the first race meeting in Scotland this year. Cassius has to requalify because he didn't race last year so has to prove that he's capable of behaving on the track etc., and Stevie is actually racing. So there is a small chance of a rosette! He's in a race of 7, some really good horses in with him so we'll just have to see how he goes. We've been having ongoing issues with his steering and the vet has eliminated a variety of problems but it didn't put us any nearer to why he's doing it. We've worked him in a different bit the last twice now and OH's dad (our workout driver) says his steering has majorly improved so hopefully we've finally begun to figure him out!

Good luck to everyone else, hopefully we're all reconvening here on Sunday night/Monday morning with good news!

We're at Bold Heath, she's normally ok there but if feels like forever since we were there last! Entering in canter was 'the' goal for us in dressage, might have to create a new one after Sunday :D.

Good luck to you too :) report back!

Good luck everyone 🍀

Ah if you need a break from the chaos I'm on at 11:31 and 13:32 :), though I can't imagine you are going to have time to breath with all that going on .

Wow it's a busy weekend for everyone!

We went xc schooling yesterday - my rider hasn't even popped an xc fence on G before, so thought we'd better get out before the ODE on Sunday. G was fab, but my other friend had a fall and will be out of action for quite some time - she landed on her feet and has broken her leg at the top and bottom and probably torn a ligament also,

Couple of pics of Big G - this trakehner was really quite big:
