Weekend Plans

Wow it's a busy weekend for everyone!

We went xc schooling yesterday - my rider hasn't even popped an xc fence on G before, so thought we'd better get out before the ODE on Sunday. G was fab, but my other friend had a fall and will be out of action for quite some time - she landed on her feet and has broken her leg at the top and bottom and probably torn a ligament also,

Couple of pics of Big G - this trakehner was really quite big:

Fabulous photos! Bad luck for other friend though.

Those pics are fab, that's a whopper of a jump! Awful about your friend though, must have been sobering. Hope she recovers quickly.

Cheers guys. Yes, it's awful, especially as it was such a gentle fall, almost a dismount, we were laughing until we saw her face. Typical bloody stubborn horsey girl though, insisted on walking back to the lorry and wouldn't let me call an ambulance.

Ouch JB, your poor friend! Glad your boy went well though.

Good luck to everyone cometing! Indio and I are doing two Novice BD tests for the first time tomorrow - eek! The first test is indoors but warm up and the second test are outside, I think we'll be getting a soaking :(

Good luck everyone! Alf and I are doing our 2nd novice at tweseldown on sunday and tomorrow a dressage lesson to see if we can persuade said horse that he really, really enjoys dressage 😅

Is that Roegate? Been thinking of trying there!

i am! my time is 11.52 :) when are you riding? :) we are aiming to get there around 11.15ish :)

I'll be in doing my N24 then as I'm doing that at 11.51, then N39 at 12.34 or thereabouts! I'll be there with my YO as she's doing Elem and Medium with a client's horse. We'll be in a big blue lorry, should arrive around 11ish.

I'll be the nervous looking one on a grey with an anchor brand! It's our first time doing two Novices and N39 terrifies me!

Good luck to you too :)

How are you getting on FW?

Good luck vallin, I'm sure JFTD will look after you well

My friend is taking G to a ODE on Sunday, we went xc schooling today and they were fab but our travelling buddies didn't get on so well, she had a fall and is currently in a&e waiting for an x ray :( I doubt she will be riding for a whole, almost certainly not by Sunday.

I may even get to hack my horse out on Saturday if I'm lucky!

I'm getting bored of sore ribs now! Thanks for asking! :)

Sorry to hear about your friend that must have been agony. SJ coach said one of his clients came off xc schooling, landed on her feet and has done some serious damage to her ankle too with the ground being so hard. Hope she mends quickly.

That fence was massive! Looking amazing.

Daisy was a bit lacking in energy yesterday but still jumped well. My fault as I've cut her feed and she had a busy end to the week. As she doesn't eat grass and/or due to the PSSM I have to be very careful to meet her energy requirements. With not riding her it's harder to know how she's feeling!

A few pics anyway.

Wow she's looking great FW, and so neat with her front legs! It's so hard to gauge the right amount of feed, it must be nearly impossible without grass in the mix!

Well done fw :) she looks ace!

Lola did good at dressage today, not the best score wise but a much more positive outing and a really sweet obedient test :) Ended up on 63.12 and 2nd bronze :) really fair sheet!
Just about another area festival sheet and that's her qualified for the native pony champs at Solihull ec :)

We did it. I got to wear the tailcoat and we didn't make a fool of ourselves. 64% and a qualification to ride at PSG. So excited! Even got a 7 for our 3 time changes! Loads of piccies on our Facebook page Nicola Holehouse eventing if anyone interested!

Looked fab star, and some great comments. Have a good day tomorrow.

Well done LW93 :)

Walked the course for tomorrow, bloody glad I'm not riding, started off easy enough but there were some meaty fences towards the end! Very stupidly went wearing trainers so my feet were squelching by the end of it.

Thanks :) she is a very careful horse and rarely has a pole down. Love her to bits. It's ok when I'm riding her because then I know but when I'm not I've got no clue! She's always quiet to handle.

Well done star - amazing result!! Did you go to Tweseldown as well (sorry if I missed an update)?

And nice work LiffWee, Lola looked lovely! Did you get my PM?

We had a first test that felt pretty rubbish, including some cantering in the trot work and trot in the canter work :O I was expecting low-60s TBH. Then I really got after him for N39 and he felt fab, really into the contact and listening to me but relaxed, we even had floppy ears :D. I messed up a few movements (it was my first ever long arena test at Novice!) but it felt far far better than the N24. So I was a bit surprised to get 62.something% and comments of 'tension' throughout! Ho hum, at least we got two Area scores, which was the target for the day!

I did what I felt.was our best ever novice and was surprised to only get 66% in N22 with some questionable comments. But still a fab score.

Then N39 difficult test. Rider didn't help and messed up the 2nd canter trot canter. But was super surprised to get 65.3% was expecting 62

Had I of entered as Bronze we would have achieved two 2nd however my instructor previously said if I can achieve mid 60s I should enter as silver in case of regional points. So was just out of the placings

Yes, just got back. Naughty monkey ran out at the yucky left corner after right turn. I knew he would which is probably why he did! Don't really care as still on a high from yesterday!
