What no thread yet!

Fun weekend planned for me. Going XC schooling Saturday afternoon - my friend who rides G is coming with me to help me out, and give me some confidence. Then Sunday evening we're going on a beach ride :D

What's everyone else up to?

I had a brilliant lesson this morning :) then tomorrow we are out hoping to get our last novice area festivals sheet (and hopefully seeing nikicb and j1ffy :))
Then Sunday we are going for a hack to explore our new hacking!! :)

I have a lesson tonight, which i'm really looking forward to!

Going hacking with some friends tomorrow, boxing to their yard so we can go for lunch after :D

Sunday have an ODE at Bovington :D

Currently having farrier problems though, messaged a fortnight ago to say he'd need to do her before this weekend as shoes sound loose on the road and clenches are right up and shes tripping dreadfully. Tuesday he finally pinned down Friday(today). Just messaged to say vans broken down dont know if he'll make it -_- he's generally a brilliant farrier but i really need new shoes before Sunday!

Jumping clinic this afternoon - first time jumping my new boy since i tried him when buying him 6 weeks ago. Cant decide if excited or nervous - probably both. Hack tomorrow and then our first competitive outing at dressage. Just unaffiliated Prelim 2 but it will give us a good bench mark to start from with a view to affiliating in the autumn. Hes only just 6 and very sensible but hunted all winter so dressage fails to keep his attention for very long at present.

I was going to give the tailcoat another outing on Sunday but discovered the judge is one who hates us and won't give us more than a 6, mostly 5.5's and I'm still on a high after the last outing and don't want my bubble burst just yet. Sadly she's also judging the Advanced Medium so I've withdrawn from both classes. £50 down the drain but not in the mood for a slating. Looks like weather is gonna be fab though so trying to find a friend to go for a nice hack with and maybe stop at the pub.

XC clinic tomorrow morning with Baby Brian, quite nervous as it will be his first time out XC this year and I am desperately scratching round for some confidence.

Saturday afternoon hopefully do some horseball training and if the weather's good on Sunday maybe find a pleasure ride to go on :)

How is your friend with the broken leg JB?

Have fun folks. I might go out for a plod but that is about it other than potentially may visit possible husband for Peaches 😶

Loving the sound of all these pleasure rides - hopefully will get Loll out to one before the end of the summer, she's currently walking out for 45mins with about 5mins of trot work and enjoying life :)
Mike has a lesson tonight then all being well will be off for some unaff SJ on Sunday, hopefully the allweather will be more to his liking than the grass SJ last weekend, plus it will be a bit bigger which usually means he gawps less.

Exciting plans for most, (very excited about possible baby peaches :D).

Might go out and actually do some show jumping with Topaz on Sat, yes you heard me we are leaving the ground again :D. Nothing much else planned, might take Skylla out for an away from the yard hack, but Doodle is grounded with a fat leg...

V jealous of you all. Sounds like fun. Good luck to those competing and fun riding.

I didn't realise peaches was dating FW

My life keeps interrupting horsey activities as we are away for a wedding this weekend but hoping to squeeze in a jump lesson tonight and a hack out on Sunday after we come back. Boyo is getting schooled for me tmrw.

It's something I've been mulling over and now being injured (me not her!) I'm am thinking now is as good a time as any. It would mean when my only child steals my one true love (Daisy) away from me as she will surely do in the next few years, all being well, I can still have two ;)

Planning to use a RID to achieve a bit more height and substance and perhaps slightly less Welshness to the mix.

The only thing that is putting me off is no one seems to test for PSSM. I am unsure if this is because it's genuinely not a problem in the breed or if it's "not a problem" talked about/known about. After all I've heard the latter said about breeds where I know it absolutely is in the breed. It's hard to know, if you aren't in the breed, and I'm not!

I am jealous of all of your plans!

I am going to be visiting my horse who is recovering in horsey hospital currently then off to watch a show with friends :)

Also going to have a play with my friend and her riding school ponies this evening which I am quite excited about! :D

Nothing too exciting really. I was going to go to the local riding club and have a play in the indoor school which is free hire at the moment to members, but my car is not fixed at the garage yet and Dad's car doesn't have tow bar so I am going to ride in the school at the yard during some point over the weekend and have a little jump now the physio has re-visited and my vet has said my horse is okay to start jumping again.

Looking forwards to it, even though it will only be for ten minutes.

Another quiet weekend for us, saddle fitting at Woolcroft saddlery tomorrow and thine not sure about Sunday - will see if I'm more awake!

No plans. Horse had Chiro today and she is having a few easy days, she was very wonky for a done very little 5 yo 😕 still better I know now so I can keep on top of it all.
That just means I have to go to a car show with my oh on Sunday, fair trade I suppose :biggrin3:

Sounds like everyone has fun weekend lined up, even if they involve car shows not horses

FW it's good to see you back on board again. Thanks for asking about friend, she's fed up and very lame, still waiting for the MRI to confirm any ligament damage, but the x-rays showed she'd fractured her tibial plateau and she's missed surgery on that by about 1mm :eek3:

She has my every sympathy! Sounds like it's going to be a long road :(

I've only take 2 8/500 cocodamol today (but I've also done nothing!). First time in 6 weeks I've not been taking a full dose of 30/500s AND naproxen.

Ribs are one of the worst injuries, you can't even protect them except by not breathing, and that tends to lead to passing out and/or dying, which probably isn't the best outcome :D

My horse is getting his saddle fitted tomorrow and after a week of not being ridden or lunged he is gonna be fresh so let's see if I survive. :P

Assuming I do survive (pretty sure I will he is too lazy to do something stupid), my mum's friends niece will be riding him on both Saturday and Sunday. My mum's friend is not going through a great time none of the family are so it will be good for the niece to get out of the house and do something fun plus she loves the horse so will cheer her up. She is getting a lesson on sunday with my instructor too as I thought it would be nice for her to get a lesson as well and learn from someone new.

Dressage lesson on Sunday with Fergus, which is always fun. I'm screwed every way at the moment, as the weather's been awful and I have no surface. I'm getting mighty sick of riding and leading for fitness, when all I really have is road work.

I'm going to be sorting out & packing for TREC camp which is tue - sun next week

Very excited , it's been held at the wonderful brandy house Farm in Felindre, mid Wales borders .

Looking forward to lessons with tot wall and Helen wain , plenty of out riding on the all access mountains and new for this year they have a hot tub 😊 will have to get the horse clippers on my legs , they have more hair on them than the horses at the mo !

Am taking my old boy to a new cross country venue this afternoon for a clinic with Penny Sangster. Then taking youngster out xc schooling tomorrow for baby jumping clinic. A xc weekend for us.

Saddle fitted to horse! He has changed in size extremely I am a bad owner for not noticing. He went from a black medium gullet to the yellow extra extra wide gullet: http://www.kentandmasters.co.uk/features/2-uncategorised/20-changeable-gullet-bar

So he is moving properly already not tense and is very happy. Just wish he would show clearly when he is in pain. He doesn't show it clearly he just puts up with it. Silly kind boy.

The niece rode him twice today she rode him first after i checked the saddle was fine and then again in the afternoon. She jumped him in the afternoon too. :) He was a good boy although at one point he went up to an upright, went to jump, forgot and just kept cantering straight through it. At least that's the only way I can describe what he did.

Lola did amazingly at bd today!
Finished our novice area festival qualification :D
Novice 38 - 67.10 and 5th bronze, 13/33 overall, really chuffed!! :D

It's my first full weekend with new horse, so today we did our first hack down the road to use a neighbouring school. Discovered she's petrified of the electric gates, so tomorrow will be spent desensitising her to them, and then might pop a little jump :)
