If the weather holds up D is in for a busy one - show jumping on Saturday and then on a hunt hack on Sunday,

Have a good one!

V

Sounds a good weekend!

Nothing planned for me other than try and get out hacking at some point on Topaz and Doodle. Baby horse has an inidentified lameness so is off games until it resloves or show itself as something we can start doing something for... hate the wait and see approach :(.

After weeks of nothing due to loading issues, we finally seem to of cracked it (touches wood frantically) and managed 2 trips showjumping this week and are going back again tomorrow for more. Its close by and has an enclosed lorry park so fits what we need at the moment. Hopefully will be cracking on and going other places again soon.

Fence judging at Catton tomorrow, then hopefully taking the boys out for a lovely long hack on Sunday.

Oh no :(. Fingers crossed that it fixes on its own.

I'm helping out at an undergrad open day on Saturday and maybe going to arena XC on Sunday, though I'm having second thoughts after our lesson over the course yesterday. My horse doesn't understand the 'brush through' part of brush fences and kept stopping.

If we don't go competing on Sunday it'll be another mammoth hack to do some gallop sets on the big beach :).

Hope everyone else has fun!

Nope, scratch that, it's just been abandoned! I shall sit at home and eat my fence judging picnic on the sofa whilst watching Outlander instead :D

RC all day tomorrow doing stressage, sj & xc. Think I'm more looking forwards to the group lunch than the taking part, as FLF doesn't 'operate' in temps over 10 degrees.
Think am mad to had signed up for it earlier this yr...
Sunday out early hacking with chums, if I am able to totter to the yard :)

!

Me too, vet tried to calm me down but I hate not knowing what the issue is! Knowing my luck it will develop into an emergancy call out on Sunday :o.
Good luck if you do compete but the trip to the beach sounds excellent too!

Vodkagirly, fingers crossed that loading is now sussed and good luck!

Lexi_ your weekend plans sound great and at least you'll stay dry :D.

The Fuzzy Furry, I'm sure you'll do great have some faith :), though Topaz agrees about being forced to work in 'hot' weather :D.

CELEBRATING!!! YO just qualified for HOYS again on her Connie stallion!! She has qualified 10 times now, 4 times on this boy :D Soooooooo excited!

Oh, and a 5 mile run and my NF's first affiliated workers attempt. Busy busy!

Hopefully a HOY's ticket for the middleweight at the Three Counties tomorrow and then Little Alice has to get to grips with Intro C on Sunday ready for her second public outing on Tuesday evening.

Baby pony is off to her first party tomorrow! Shes been one of the trickiest I've ever backed so going for a relaxed no pressure outlook!

Injured one is to be sat on again to see if hock injections have worked.. fingers crossed!

Wow busy all round - and DF that's some jump your horse has got!

I was planning on going SJing on Sunday but I think I'm going to have to scratch that as far too much work on, and Mr JB has just reminded me that we are out most of the day and evening tomorrow so all the work I was planning on doing tomorrow will have to be done on Sunday instead of having fun :(

I'm hoping to get back on a horse after Dangerous Brian crushed my foot just over a week ago. There's a local pleasure ride round a lovely estate happening tomorrow so I might take the safest one for a pootle round there without stirrups! It comes to something when your "safest" one is the 17.2hh bright orange ex racer ;) but he is such a good boy!

I've got to wait until late Sunday for my putting but I've got a riding club ODE very excited.

But I was out Wednesday and Thursday doing our first elementaries with pretty good results :D

Stratford Hills BE90. New 2016 dressage test we haven't done before. Practicing not going well! You halt at X instead of the usual G. Horse won't halt at X! Says No No No Mum we halt at G! And a three loop serpentine which she also thinks is wrong, should be a two loop she says! Should be interesting. Far too clever for her own good!

Super weekend for D and I. On Saturday she managed not one but two Sjing rounds without a stop and even got herself a rosette and then today we had a lovely time hacking round the Thurlow estate for three hours :D Hope you all had equally fun and pony-filed weekends,
V

We went to Moreton for the RC ODE - unfortunately i didn't get my entry in early enough to ride for the riding club so went as an open rider, had the most AMAZING day still grinning! After the alarm went off at 3.30 am this morning i did feel like turning it off and going back to sleep but dragged myself out of bed and got to the yard for 4am!

Super chuffed with a 26dressage leaving us in 3rd, Clear SJ'ing and a brilliant Clear XC - Course was a mix of easy peasy and :O scary big fences. She handled the whole thing like a pro and i finished with the biggest grin on my face :D

Hopefully one of these links might work to our dressage test;

Loaded and travelled well. 10 minutes down the road, I realised I'd left my purse so had to go back to the yard for it. So I eventually I got to the show jumping, which was running late. Double clear and 6th in the 75. Clear in 85 but I took the wrong course (common for me) so I did accumulator and came 4th including jumping the joker and clearing it by about a foot from the photos. Then he didn't fancy going home :( took an hour to persuade him.
Back to loading practice today. So disappointed, he is so fab in every other way.

Well done, that was a lovely test.

Well done VG too, shame about the loading, hope you can get it cracked.

LeannePip your horse is lovely :)

I took my Dad indoor climbing yesterday as his father's day present, as I go regularly and he said he'd like to try. I did feel a terrible sense of responsibility though, I never think of him as old but he is 62 now so considerably older than most climbers! Still, he said he enjoyed it so much he'd like to go next week too :)

And then today I had a riding lesson with my former boss, who I'm doing some summer work for, on a lovely five year old mare that he owns. I'm very taken with her, and the lessons (this was my third) are doing wonders for my position. My back was apparently poker straight today, which is a big improvement!

Thanks, she's a real sweetheart!

Sounds like a really good arrangement lessons for work! i'd love to find something like that. Great that you are seeing so much progress after just 3 lessons, imagine what it'll be like after a whole summer!

Well done, that was a lovely test.

Thank you, i was really pleased with it as she was so much more relaxed than at Bov. a couple of weeks ago. Still loads to work on but really happy with it for the moment - my dr. instructor will be pleased that i managed to be on the correct diagonal for atleast half of the trot work! :D :D

We went to Rackham yesterday and finally did our first 100+ after the other 2 I've entered ended up being cancelled. We led after the dressage on 29.8 with a few 8's and some lovely comments from the judge. It's not as easy as you might think trying to do a simple dressage test on an Advanced horse and we were only half a mark in the lead. He did not want to do tear drops and counter canter, he wanted to show off his half pass and flying changes! I was worried about the SJ as sticky ground which he really hates and that one hole higher and that bit wider than 100 make all the difference when ground not great. Watched one of the first to go get eliminated after 3 stops so had to stop watching after that! I ended up hunting him round a bit which meant he got a bit forwards and booted out a couple in front but was pleased we made it round and through the finish line together as last time jumped on ground like that he threw me over the 2nd part of a one stride double all my myself and there were two 1 stride doubles in this course! He then aced the XC finishing bang on the optimum time thanks to wearing a watch and being able to judge it to perfection the whole way round. Ended up in 5th place which am very happy with for first 100+ and considering not his favourite ground. Next stop Farley Hall next week for bog standard 100. Could just do with the ground drying up a bit - no more rain please! (currently chucking it down outside :( )

Videos of all 3 phases are here:

Oppies..... we got our first ever big fat E in our third ever ODE (and 3rd ever XC). But hey you live and learn, what he did do he flew. But considering it took for ever to get him near the start box to make it to jump 5 was a miracle, knew it was likely to be an issue as it was back towards the start again.

But plus side an ok dressage and clear SJ within the time(!) that's a big thing for us, as we are often captain slow :D

Well done Leanne and Star :D
We went and did the RC Novice Area SJ in the rain - someone missed the memo saying I don't do getting wet :P
The track was proving really spooky in the first round - 5 teams were eliminated! So I was a little apprehensive - this was only Mike's fourth SJ attempt :)
We had 4 in the first, clear in the second round and then had to jump off with the other 2 teams for the Lincoln spot. Poor Mike it was his first time having to properly jump off for something and although he did try we tipped two out, with the rest of the team also faulting we finished third so missed the Lincoln spot but qualified for the new Regional champs at Hartpury which we were quite happy with as it's an hour's travel for us versus 4+ to Lincoln :D
