Hope it's ok for me to start this thread this weekend!!

I'm fence judging at Offchurch tomorrow, the course is looking amazing for their first ever BE event. It's a gorgeous location too, I did my first proper ODE there and this is my third time fence judging there.

Then Sunday I've got Riding Club dressage - enter a warm up class, only for my times to be backwards!! So my warm up is now my cool down - little unfair - but that's the way the cookie crumbles I suppose!

Good luck everyone

Good Luck with your competing !

Our Riding Club has a show on Sunday and I have organised a raffle for the day, to help raise some funds.
I am also competing in one of the classes and bricking myself slightly as don't want to make a fool of myself :-)
hoping for a dry and successful day for everyone!

OH is meant to be competing in a WH Blair qualifier tomorrow and im meant to be taking my 4 year old to a show on sunday but the 4x4 is being tempramental so might not make it :(

Off back into the sparkly world on Sunday for Regional practise, at a new venue for us so a nice way to push Topaz's boundaries a bit (she cannot just have one venue she deems safe :D).

Mrsh2010, good luck at the dressage but shame about the warm up class, could you ask them to swap your times around?

Monte1, you will not make a fool of yourself you will be great, go get 'em :).

Jenna1406, hope the 4x4 sorts itself out! Do you have a contingency plan?

Tomorrow i will spend the morning riding and the afternoon running in a XC relay

Sunday i am gonig for a long run, then riding, then a BBQ

Monday at work will be a rest from the weekend!

Going to Pachesham unaffiliated dressage festival tomorrow for my 2nd go at Advanced 102 and another chance to wear my tailcoat! Very exciting. There's only 2 of us in the class so means I get to do the mounted prize giving assuming I don't get eliminated!

Not much for me this weekend. If the school isn't a giant lake, I'll practice some flatwork tips from last weekend, when we ventured out for a flatwork clinic. He went better than I thought and it was one of those little moments when you realise that you have made progress, and may not be quite as pants as I tend to think!

Also need to work on my individual show as am planning on doing another ridden hunter next week, with the added thrill of a working hunter class, to really spook me.

Monte you wont make a fool of yourself - just enjoy the day :)

I've entered one for the Unaff classes at Sparsholt's Festival of Dressage on Sunday, have a lesson tonight and horse has a massage tomorrow in prep! We are also going upto Sparsholt Saturday night to see the Matt Hicks/ Mark Hallion demo

We are going stressaging tomorrow. I actually thought it was Sunday until one second ago. Oops. 😮

Annnnd I've just been to visit Peaches' potential husband and he is LUSH so we are speaking to the vet next week about getting her swabbed and going for it 🙈😁

Last night we had an amazing lesson - really upping the ante now and feel as though we are forging a way forward! :D worked on a lot of shoulder in and quarters in :)
We went for a gorgeous hack exploring more new areas today :) had loads of fun and lost control for laughing so much :)
Tomorrow we are going out jump schooling at a lovely local venue :) looking forward to something a but different :)
Then Sunday Im helping at Wellington riding club combined training :D

Ooh lots of exciting things going on!

Mrsh2010 enjoy the fj and the dressage, my boy goes better in the first test than the second usually so you never know :)
Monte1 you won't make a fool of yourself, you can't be any worse than the time I fell off at hickstead in the middle of my test :o lol:
Jenna really hope you get transport sorted, look forward to the report
Alex after all her eventing adventures, I'm sure she take the new venue in her stride :D
PM ooh how exciting, I wish you lived down here as I'd snap you up for my horse!
Crackerz...running. ..living up to your user name there
Star enjoy the prize giving and I refer you to my comment to Monte1 :p
Bernster you're turning into the hho Show Girl :biggrin3:
Leanne good luck, and I'm jealous about the pony getting a massage, I could do with one of those!
FW your post is useless without pictures :mad3: :D Ribs doing ok?
LW have a great time jump schooling :)

Nothing exciting planned for me. I went to a sj clinic last night and fell off right at the beginning, so got detention! Got a flatwork lesson in the morning as I've gone and entered for dressage on Tuesday (I think!). I really need to get out for a hack on Sunday, but I'm taking a friend to rackham for team dressage so it will only happen if I get up early enough!

Taking 5yo and pony to PC mini league final in the morning, and praying the weather is nice :( as we spent today getting damp..

Good luck everyone, will we report back with a pic each on Sunday evening?

Fiona

As usual, everyone sounds like they're doing way more fun stuff than me! Good luck to all those competing :).

FW can we pleeeeeeease have a photo of Peaches potential husband? :D

Nothing major planned this weekend as M has only just come back from her cut leg, maybe a stroll along the common to watch the airshow! We've got the Ben Hobday XC clinic on Monday, and then maybe a flat lesson on Wednesday. The rest of my time shall be spent plastering the new house and prospective horse shopping .

I'm having a flatwork lesson on Saturday (teaching my on-loan somewhat babied 6 YO how to canter!) and XC schooling on Sunday..... it's all about the preparation doncha know :D I cannot tell you how excited I am to have a horse that will soon compete at last after a series of nutty TBs that, with the best will in the world, were not quite mentally prepared for competing :) :)

Have fun everyone!

Can I start with the pictures? Had an amazing lesson tonight, i'm still grinning! She went sooo well and we started woking more sitting trot and then pushing for more in the medium's, stirrups went down two holes and then we tried both at the same time which was hugely entertaining as i think i resembled a nodding churchill before realising that i could still; control the muscles in my neck, sit, stay relaxed, push for more and hold together . . . All at the same time!.

So looking forward to Sparsholt on Sunday now :D

Pictures are from my physio who was treating on the yard and stopped to take some photos during the warm up and before stirrups went down.

Err....what have I missed? What are you looking for? I'm really good at finding horses :D

You've not missed anything, I've been keeping it quiet! :). We've just bought a house and have loads of money extra each month now as the 'mortgage' (long story, my dad's bought it and we're paying him back - I know, spolit!) is about £400pcm less than the rent on the last house (and council tax and gas are less). So this is obviously the right time to buy a second horse ;).

I don't actually know 100% what I'm looking for! Firm criteria:
15.3 - 16.3hh
2 - 4yo
Lightly backed if 3/4yo OR completely unbroken
Not a cob!
Long-term plan is to be a general all-rounder and event up to 100 level
Budget of up to £3k

Gender and colour are unimportant, though I'm a sucker for a nice grey. I'd like some TB blood in there somewhere but nothing spindly. Happy to bring over from Ireland or similar, distance isn't really a concern unless it's Shetland or Orkney or something. Unfortunately by being so non-specific it's making things a lot harder :p. I don't want something that's going to set the world alight and wouldn't expect to with that budget.

She's looking great LP! :D

Lev, I've completely missed your horsey posts, what's happened to Frodo?

Fiona, fingers crossed for good weather.

I sadly lost him at the end of April :( :( :( I'm so sorry to have to say so, it was a mixture of navicular type symptoms (increasing and permanent lameness) and mental issues, he was a quirky little sod but I loved him a lot :( :(

Now - like chalk and cheese! - I've got a 6YO piebald "sports cob" on long-term full loan now, I would buy him in an instant but he is not for sale, he has an amazing attitude & is SO genuine compared to the gorgeous but quirky TBs I have had over the past 8 years.....

He really hasn't done much with his owner, so the last few weeks have been a bit of a learning curve for him (and me - my jumping is rusty to put it politely!) but I am SO SO looking forward to competing him :) :)

Sorry, got a bit carried away there :p

Ribs are getting there thanks for asking. Ten weeks now and still not 100% tho. I almost went CR x pole jumping last night then thought better of it. Not because I wanted to go, because I really don't and I am worried my nerve will be totally gone if I don't get back to it soon. However I don't feel fit at all and I don't want to fall off so decided it was too soon.

Hmm I don't have any pics of him of my own so best not post one. Here is his webpage instead. He is enormous, I think close to 17hh and deliciously chunky. His movement was super. Effortless and powerful but he looks so safe and gentle at the same time. I was still humming and hawing about whether to do it and now I am thinking maybe I should be buying a pure offspring of his I loved him so much. He seems a perfect match to offset some of the Welshness too :D

They do have a SJ stallion as well but I prefer the sound of this guy as a match for P, and let's face it any approx 16hh horse should be able to jump the sort of heights I want to achieve.

Ooh lots of exciting stuff planned for everyone!! Best of luck to you all :)

We've got a posh dressage lesson in the morning with Luis Principe. YO is also going and we're first on, which means leaving the yard at 6.30am. For a dressage lesson. On a Saturday. Yes, really, this is supposed to be a fun hobby ;) Maybe I'm taking the prep for Prelim Regionals a little too seriously!!

Sunday we may be heading to a local show for our first ever competitive SJ round, but it depends on our lift. Hopefully we'll attempt the dizzy heights of 65cm! We've been doing 90 at home but I want to keep it all very easy for our first proper attempt at a course (for me more than him :D).

Oh my isn't he gorgeous fw.... Best of luck with getting her in foal.

Best of luck with the horse hunting director fury.. very stressful I'm sure.

Fab pics leannepip :) I'm sure my hubby won't take any as nice, and even though DS is off the lead now I still probably won't get the chance myself..

Fiona

Brightling 100 tomorrow late late late. Irish Bog Pony may have to live up to his name - that is if the event is still running at 6.30pm!

Have a good one all.

I am more worried about being towed in my lorry - last time I got towed out of an event it cost me £1000 as the exhaust got damaged. :(

Just one from the warm-up from our first walk and trot test after 5 weeks on loan - he got 58% in his first test (indoors, he had been indoors twice in his life and the last time was 2 years ago) then 68% in his second test - delighted does not BEGIN to cover it :D

Our aim is BE90 next year so everything is being geared towards that #crossesfingerstightly :) :)

Yum! Glad ribs are getting there, they take ages, you're being very sensible x

Exciting, have fun. If you're jumping 90 at home I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine at 65!

I'm in West Sussex and it's been fabulously dry for almost 24 hours, I think you'll be fine.

Another go at a cob class and then more lessons for Adorable Alice as she prepares for her first outing as a show horse on the 9th.

Good luck everyone.

Nothing exciting for us just schooling. Gonna work with him in a field too and do hill work. Just have a bit of fun really. :)

Couldn't go to dressage last month but hoping to in a few weeks. Novice test might be out of the question this time even for training as I think it's a difficult one.
