D has a lovely quiet weekend planned as will be spending all weekend looking at livery yards and in tack shops around around Gloucester - oh joy! If anyone can recommend a yard that has good turnout between Quedgeley and Wooton-under-edge I'd be grateful!

Have a good one,
V

Finally able to post again on this thread.
Saturday AM visiting tack shop to replace some stuff that seems to have vanished in the almost two years I haven't been riding. Afternoon probably do some SJ practice. Sunday flatwork then a gentle hack.

We are eventingggg!! Cannot wait to go XC on B again. XC schooling tonight for prep... Eek!

Yard hunting as well, so exciting. Not. Other than that more hacking although I might do some pole work before the surface in the school gets taken away....

Some unwitting person has asked me to give them a lesson Sat ( I'm not sure they realise I may not be the most appropriate person to tell others what to do ), then final run through the regional test Sunday! Baby horse is finally back in work so her and Doodle can go hacking at some point too.

Hope yard hunting, eventing and general riding go well everyone!

I can actually respond to this for a change! Going out for our first competition in what seems like forever after a long injury rehab. We have UA dressage on Saturday in prep for our first BD a couple of weeks later... eeek!! :D

We're off eventing on Saturday :) Mike had a serious dressage lesson last night where he learnt he cannot throw his shoulders wherever he wants and hopefully we can put it into practice in the dressage. He hasn't jumped since area SJ so I foresee plenty of pony club kicking ;)
Then we're off on holiday on Sunday - can't wait!
Good luck with the yard hunting Vallin you never know what you will turn up just by driving around the area.
And good luck to everyone else with their stressaging / eventing / showing etc :)

Tweseldown BE100 plus on Sunday. Hoping to rediscover my eventing mojo. Been enjoying dressage rather too much lately and can't be bothered with all the effort that goes into eventing!

Wow loads of people out this weekend :) good luck to everyone, have fun and enjoy x

I've not got anything definite planned. Was thinking about having a jump on Saturday morning and I might go to a local show on Sunday and take him in the working hunter, although the weather looks awful.

Pony club camp finishes on Saturday :) Great fun so far..

Good luck to everyone competing and yard hunting and tack shopping :)

Fiona

I hardly ever reply to this.
Saturday I'm off work (wooooo). Hack green horse, can't call him youngster anymore (he's 8) but very very low mileage as been difficult.
Sunday endurance ride with friend, should be fun as a change.

Some exciting stuff planned.

Great to hear you've got a new ride paddymonty. I bet your gear shows up,right after you buy a whole load of new stuff!

JennB - hmm just checked the weather and Sunday is looking a bit rubbish! But I'm finding the forecast is so unreliable that the only gauge is what it's looking like outside the window. And even the. It changes so quick!

I've got my first yard working hunter clinic tonight. Perfect timing (I hope) as I'm taking him showing on Sunday, if the weather isn't horrid, and will try ridden hunter and a novice working hunter for the first time. So my Saturday will be spent up to my armpits in shampoo and spray, trimming and tidying the grey beast! But he does scrub up rather well...

Quiet one for us!! Had an amazing lesson yesterday - working on getting more collection, it was the most technically challenging lesson I've ever had!
Today we are going for a nice hack with a friend again :)
Then the weekend is chilling really, I have some non horsey bits to do around riding :)

Yay, Jay Man is back in work, so I too have pans!

Saturday we are off to the farrier (as he is once again shod up because he is IN work) and Sunday I am going to spectate at a Straightness Training clinic, to hopefully learn how to keep him sound and in work (on advice of cranio lady).

We then have a month for me to get my act together before we are BOTH at a Straightness Training clinic.

Yessss..... Jay Man has an OUTING planned. Only 6 months ago we were all stood round him at the vets, thinking it was 'his time' and now we are planning a (gentle) future.

Paddymonty I am very happy for you. Been a long time coming!

Unaff ODE. Obviously prepared in the best way by working 4 long days this week and barely seeing my ponies....!

Boring weekend. Just training and making my horse learn some manners as he has started napping to get out of work. Had a really good session with him tonight he did everything I asked and only napped once at the start. Almost got my horse back but he is going through 'manners boot camp' as I am calling it. :P

Great pics, Bernster: Finn looks so smart (he's one of my hho fave horses despite being grey), and FW I didn't realise Peaches was such a pretty girl, having a baby with her will be so exciting!

The weather forecast has cleared up for tomorrow but I'm probably going to have to work most of the day so not sure I can get G out after all.

Thanks JB. I tend not to see her as particularly pretty I think because my previous D who died in horrendous circumstances was a real stunner and obv as she is dead is promoted to god like status in my head. Luckily Peaches doesn't actually care what I think anyway!

My other palo is a Section C proper Barbie pony and she is even prettier too, so makes P look rather plain in comparison lol!

Think I have sorted my horse already. He didn't spook at all today or even tried napping even though the flies were biting his face constantly.

Not sure if it was me showing him who is boss yesterday or the fact that I have taken him off biotin and the slow release energy cubes but just happy my horse is back to his normal self. He even went to the bottom of the arena and into the scary corner that all of the horses hate with no issues.

Fingers crossed this continues.

We had our lesson and dressed up in new outfit

Lovely photo!

We went to Tweseldown for the BE100 plus today. 3rd after dressage with joint 1st just 1mark ahead of us. Sadly SJ he knocked 3 down which isn't really like him so decided to save his legs and not run him XC. As it was if we'd gone clear in the time he'd have come 7th as not many good dressage scores, lots of poles falling and lots of faults XC but we live to fight another day.

I had a sucky weekend not finding a suitable livery yard - three more to view on my way back to Cambs tomorrow evening, let's hope one fits the bill! I hate looking for yards! >:(

No pics sadly and not such n eventful weekend but he went really well at the working hunter clinic at the yard on Friday. Then the rain messed up plans today and we didn't make either showing classes that I'd planned on doing. Partly my fault for getting there too late as the morning classes were v quiet. Then I didn't fancy jumping in the working hunter as it was slippy.

So I ended up in totally the wrong class and did the riding horse, amongst lots of pretty flicky toed horses in matchy brow bands. Oops. But he went really nicely, better behaved in the go round this time and a nice show. We even got a decent gallop. Came in 3rd which is pretty awesome considering we were not the right type really.

Must get my timings sorted and learn to plait as I'm losing my super groom friend next time out. Working hunter next time if the stupid weather doesn't spoil it again!

Well done Bernster.
Vallin sorry you didn't find a livery yard.
Star sounds lkke a sensible decision, especially given yesterday's carnage on the xc.

Last night I decided to take the morning off work and go to the show, but it ended up pouring here all morning so reverted back to my original decision of not going! Have an SJ lesson and a xc clinic booked with him this week, so plenty going on.
