Weekend Plans

Fab weekend with friends and family :)

Topped off by a spot of stressage with Fig today. New personal best of 65.26% at PSG (fourth test at this level!). Very chuffed with him...

I had a sucky weekend not finding a suitable livery yard - three more to view on my way back to Cambs tomorrow evening, let's hope one fits the bill! I hate looking for yards! >:(

Snap :( I'm looking at yards I like but the thought of traveling an hour after work just puts me off. I can't seem to find anything between work and home so I might just have to suck it up.

Lovely photo!

We went to Tweseldown for the BE100 plus today. 3rd after dressage with joint 1st just 1mark ahead of us. Sadly SJ he knocked 3 down which isn't really like him so decided to save his legs and not run him XC. As it was if we'd gone clear in the time he'd have come 7th as not many good dressage scores, lots of poles falling and lots of faults XC but we live to fight another day.

its the rain hat that sets it off *crying* bloody mare won't work in the rain without it on!

sounds like you made a sensible decision - there's always another day :)

Paddymonty I am very happy for you. Been a long time coming!
Thank you. Did some SJ training on saturday. Very green but so honest and tries her little heart out. Only 90cm-1.00m but not a pole touched including jumping white gate, double etc.
Forgotten how much fun jumping was.

Paddy, can you move closer to me please! I need your jumping help!!

My weekend was one of mixed fortunes:

Smashing dressage with 24.8, putting us 2nd

clear SJ with just one time fault due to caution riding where it was slippy, which put us in the lead!

The the **** hit the fan.... down the the xc start and all asked to dismount as the air ambulance needed to land. (Hope the poor lady is ok!) then I couldn't get back on. Finally did just in time for the red arrows to fly by and the air ambulance to take off at the same time (we had been asked to dismount again but I wasn't going to). Que nap nap spin spin. Ended up quite some distance from the start box. A young girl had tried bringing her pony to us, but she was only a young girl. The rears started getting worse so I got off for my own safety. Big mistake!! He reared and bolted... through the gate and down the road!!! (A very unhelpful gate lad didn't bother shutting it!) Thankfully he went back to the lorry park!! (Someone was looking out for us)

I could have easily have given up, loaded up and gone home, but no I tried again, my mum thread the lead rope through to try and help us, he reared, panicked and head butted me, just as a very kind lady was on her way to the XC, she very kindly gave me a lead and helped me through the next 5 minutes of napping. Straight into the start box and he flew and I mean flew. Don't think we gone that fast before!!

Flew everything I was worried about, spooked at the photographer in the hedge. But started napping and spinning before fence 13 so I retired. Pleased and proud of what we had achieved.

We live to fight another day!!

Had this lovely message from someone this morning that made me well up:

Morning S, I'm afraid I don't have anything useful to say at this time on a Monday morning but just wanted to say we were judging fence 12 ( the water) and closely followed your progress over the radio( even have a pic of your horse running up the road) you did so well to carry on
Many wouldn't have and I have to say you came through the water fantastically ! You both looked amazing we were so disappointed for you when the napping started again at the next fence.
Keep trying you will succeed , my thoughts are it was just a stressful situation with the long wait and the air ambulance and next time will be a lot smoother xx

Here's some pictures to prove I still managed to keep smiling:

Blimey mrsh that does seem like a lot to contend with !

And Nikki M - fab scores already, what a fantastic achievement.

mrsh2010 - I read your report and all the lovely comments on the twittereventing fb feed - really impressed with your keep calm and carry on attitude - well done!
