Weekend Plans

Had a brilliant morning schooling in the field. Finally got access to my flatter field and it's nice to be able to canter a circuit without falling off a cliff edge :D

Daughter rode new to her pony (indeed, Ffion) for the second time tonight. First time the pony who I've had for 4 years and done everything with and had loads of different riders on and has never put a hoof wrong blah blah tanked off with her and bucked her off. Still can't really believe that happened but told daughter it must be down to her since the pony is a saint and her first pony did exactly the same thing with her when she first went off the lead rein (he was also a saint, after we got over that ahem, hurdle). Anyway kept them on the lunge since and it's gone well. Got her cantering tonight which I was pleased with. Daughter is over the moon now as I told her she is now her pony and she "can't believe she has a palomino pony too!" I said she is living my childhood fantasies!

Lived a dream today... got a sub 20 dressage!! 19.8!!

But just couldn't get him near the xc collecting ring so had to withdraw :( at a wits end now. Starting to really knock my confidence

Oh no was this Calmsden today? It was a bit of a busy mental warm up at times and quite "away" from everything else. would they not let you go straight into the start box (if it was Calmsden as it was seperate to the warm up!)Amazing dressage tho!

Well the Micropony was a superstar at his first little show today! Very low key affair, very well run by a local livery yard for charity. The people who spend their free time organising these things really should have a place reserved for them in heaven! Horse was really relaxed and I think he rather enjoyed himself! Scored a whisker over 70% and came home with a rosette, which is really lovely for our first competition. I wasn't too bothered about how we did, I just wanted it to be a good experience so that was the icing on the cake. Need to plan the next one now, I can see how this can get quite addictive!

Wasn't feeling very positive so decided to school round rather than compete.
Dressage went nicely, pleased with the improvement from last year.
Show jumping was sticky but we went clear. Onto xc, and he was feeling rather laid back and as if he wanted a poo, but wouldn't go. A person I'd shared a lesson with told me to ride positive, so I did. Talked and pushed my way around and we went clear. Fastest he has mana, though I was still relieved it wasn't timed. I was amazed to find I came second. Really chuffed.
