Weekend plans ;)

Horse shopping. Got a few viewings lined up.

Feeling extremely dejected about the whole thing, have seen a couple of totally unsuitable ones this week (and one sweetie, but wasn't right for me). One I really wanted to see and had viewing arranged for this weekend was sold yesterday.
 
Hanbury Show, 2 cobs tomorrow, one is grey and belongs to a friend who will be bathing and scrubbing from the crack of sparrow fart, mine is bay who I will wipe with a duster five minutes before the class starts. Not that I am smirking of course ! - much.

On Sunday we were due to welcome a new horse into Team AA, but he has just arrived a few minutes ago so we will have a little sit on him on Sunday.
 
Riding club camp for me this weekend. Hoping firstly it stops raining, secondly beloved horse behaves herself in front of 2 new instructors and thirdly I don't mess everything up by being nervous.

We have SJ and XC and other non ridden instruction so I am also hoping to learn a fair bit too.

Well done to all those out competing.

We've had an exciting few days - finally moved into our new place and I got to have a sit on my new girl, who was pretty much foot perfect. :D

The other competitors always seem really intimidating at Allens hill, I think it's because the small warmup is right on top of the lorry park so you can't help but stop and stare at the class on display. Have fun in the old lady class on Saturday - pretty Millie pics are of course expected :D

I just can't tell you how lovely it is to have her back to work, I have to pinch myself now and then because 12 months ago even regular hacking looked doubtful.
So we had a successful morning, she won her senior ridden class and was then reserve senior champion :) Some very nice words from the judge which was lovely. We had some tiny studs in, there was a nice cut in the ground so even though the ring was on a bank she felt secure and happy on her feet :D Just like old times, haven't ridden on grass since we were eventing. Good old stick.

Ah what a nice thing to say. Definitely, none of us are ever too old to learn something new.

Hope the horse shopping goes well scats (are you feeling better?) and AA I trust there will be photos of the newbie soon? ;)
 
It's safe to say today was not our day. Flowers, banners, sandbags, camera, boards are hiding monsters under each and everyone. The good bits were good but the bad were awful! Plants and banners have been purchased and he will be sick to death of seeing them by the next AF!

Our two cobs were first and last so you couldn't beat that !
 
What a great weekend :) A long hack yesterday enlivened by the super sports cob bolting down a lane when some cows in the adjacent field chased him.....it will do wonders for his fitness I am sure (!!!), no damage done thank goodness....

Then this morning I bought a Discovery to tow a horse trailer with :) :) :) :) Going to look at an Ifor Williams 505 trailer tomorrow, and if it matches the description it will be coming home with us (assuming the vendor accepts a BACS transfer) - my own transport at last :)

Finally a fab flat lesson this afternoon where I was reminded about the importance of straightness (d'oh yes, it does really improve things doesn't it... how could I forget that!!!....) and super sports cob was brilliant!

Really hoping I will be out every weekend now :)
