Thursday again! What is everyone up to?

Quiet one here, Kira has a bit of arena hire tomorrow to practice and then off to Burrows Court on Saturday for a freestyle. Hoping she will be as brave as last time she went out dancing :p

Sunday will be moving the old dears into some new grazing for the winter, then lesson on Tuesday. And hopefully get to watch some of WEG on the red button in between everything ;)

Have fun all :)

Well I have both the Friday and Monday off work so I am very much looking forward to a long weekend.

Friday will probably spend down at the stables, considering the weather I will probably be doing groundwork. Saturday we are introducing Lunar to the other mare on the property, after spending time next to each other and are seemingly enjoying each others company over a fence. Sunday and Monday will be much the same spending time in the saddle and getting to know Lunar better.

Oh and of course watching WEG! I've got to support the Aussies :)

I've got XC schooling with my connie on Sunday, had a brilliant gridwork session with him last night too :)

Also hoping for lots of WEG watching, if Florence doesn't cause it to be abandoned......

Team ODE at Eland. Woop woop.

I was already fence juding for the ODE as I had no team (I was going to do it with the twins but Ginny is out of action). Then I was asked to make up another team and jumped at it. I am competing early and FJing the rest of the day.

Bit nervous though as I scrolled my new team member's FB page and saw her post asking for a team member saying must be able to do a DC and good dressage! No pressure then. I have told them I can't guarantee a DC and can pretty much guarantee a fairly average dressager score and they seem ok with it. Far more nerve wracking than riding solo though....

Oh and I am bringing Max home for Katie to ride. As Ginny is out of action it seems silly to have him sat on sales livery. So we will keep him in work ourselves and stop actively selling him. Though he does still need to go eventually. I can't have 4!!

No competing, but we are finally back out riding after various issues first with T, then with me, have caused us to be off for far too long. It'll be just be walk hacking for several weeks to help strengthen T up and hopefully start to even up her musculature. She has bilateral hock arthritis, and will be getting her hocks jabbed again once she has shifted some weight. She's currently on a Danilon a day.

It's reassuring for an old f@rt like me that even when you ride past the farm and notice all the contractors gathering ready for a manic day of maize harvesting, that your horse will not be fazed by it all even if you meet them on the road :). She was full of smiles when we got back home, she was bored just being in the field too.

Good luck everyone, whatever your plans are :).

oooo another week I can respond too! Doing a local showx event. Its the first time out on this particular horse so hoping it goes as well as when i took the other on her first trip out a few weeks ago. He's been out before so it should be fine (toughing all the nearby wood!). He jumps for fun so I think he's going to be disappointed with the heights but i'm playing it safe in case he's a nut and therefore I can just concentrate on him and not him and the jumps! Noone with me again so probably no photo's but i'll try!

Quiet ish one for me after last weekends forest fun. I'm going to drive up and watch some of the breed show in Nottingham on Saturday and then Sunday running through test patters for the show the following weekend with a friend from the yard.

Nothing for me, to be honest I've run out of steam and think I might just do some hacking from now until winter holidays (whenever that may be) The mare isnt right at the moment so physio and re asses for her Monday and me and the boy are on top form but I'm skint and lacking motivation so not doing anything!

Mine are all coming "out" tomorrow, then Skye is barrel racing on Saturday. Well, we've got a trail horse competition in the morning, then barrel racing / pole bending / western games in the afternoon. Should be good fun - though I suspect there will be tougher competition this time...

Will probably hack out on Sunday - new places to explore and all that :D

I am off to the BD Thoroughbred Associated Championship! Am so excited but also bricking it. The actual dressage part should be fine, he can get a bit tense but is a well behaved type so not too worried about that. The bit that scares me is it will be our longest drive (about 3hrs, so not too bad, but by far the furthest we've gone) and it's the first stay away show either of us have ever done, at a place we have never been. Fingers crossed for it all going smoothly!

Good luck everyone, some fun plans.
Amazing pics MP, she’s a gorgeous wee soul.
Quiet one for me - lesson on Sunday and may trailer out for a hack (or she may get an extra rest day!).

Bit like Antw I’m feeling a bit weary this week ! Busy at work, so no riding plans, just hopefully time for a hack out on Saturday. Can’t complain though as I’m collecting the new wheels on Saturday, taken a while to get it finished but it’s finally ready!

Have fun all!

We have a quieter weekend, lesson with Henry tonight, XC training with Coolie tomorrow and then adult riders with Henry on Sunday.

Coolie is going to be fresh not having worked all week, but XC is the highlight!

We’re having a quiet weekend at home. The weathers looking a bit rubbish so we’ve managed to get a few hires booked in, which means shifting jumps about.

I have another session with my lovely confidence coach today and then another lesson booked on Monday at the yard my friend liveries at - hoping my new noseband will be here in time otherwise we might not have any brakes.

Also planning on doing my Petplan finals entries :)

Been on holiday so not done anything for a couple of weeks. Taken today off work and booked my 2nd SJ lesson with nigel springer today, first one was good and pushed me out of my comfort zone without being too terrified!. (First lesson must have had some effect as went along to PC show on August bank holiday intending to do 70 and 80 cm classes and ended up doing 90cm too! )
Dressage lesson on Sunday.
Good luck to all.

ooohh, that's very exciting . Please post some photos Bernster.

Quiet one for us. ive got no plans whatsoever, feels a bit weird. Good luck everyone and hope you all have fun

Tiddlypom, I thought for a minute you had nicked my horse!! ;)

Sounds like another busy weekend for everyone. Good Luck for whatever you are doing, enjoy every minute!

I'm taking Sam down to Onley for Horseball this evening. I'm not playing this weekend but my team is a horse short so super Sam is stepping in.

On Sunday I am taking my new mare on hound exercise for the first time. She's done lots of hunting at her previous home but it's all been up front and I'm a little nervous as to how she will be in the field. I'm pretty sure she's going to be a bit disappointed not to be at the sharp end jumping big stuff. If I jump a couple of little bits then it will be a big thing for me.

I've got a lesson on Saturday to run through my dressage test ready for Sunday. Sunday we are going to Field House because they are running unaffiliated dressage in the big arena which they will be using for Pet plan in a couple of weeks.

I'm just doing prelim at the petplan finals but because I'm travelling with my instructor, who has qualified at medium, I've entered the young cob and I for our first ever elementary together.

We are doing elementary 53. It has been a bit of a learning curve because until we started looking at it we hadn't ever done rein back or extended walk, and our counter canter is a bit dodgy because Toby does love a flying change :D We've only done two novice tests so far. It's only unaffiliated so it doesn't matter but I just don't want to make a fool of myself.

After two days of beastings we are getting there so hopefully in the lesson tomorrow and on the day we will be able to show at least acceptable competence. Even better if we can have some good moments.

I'm rather enjoying the challenge at least!

Autumn hunting tomorrow if I can manage to wake myself up at 5am for it! Went on exercise this week and he was super, hacked today and was normal (aka jolly!) so I’m hoping he’s as well behaved tomorrow as if so I may have a nice little Hunter on my hands. I won’t hold my breath though!

Haha! Peas in a pod! Well done on the frilly :). I have to say that I'd have struggled to ever get T's head up from that lush grass to do any work, I can get her past most things except food ;).
