We went to the British Flyball Championships over the weekend. Had a great time and Skye's team came 4th and Monty's team was 2nd.(it was only his 3rd Open Tournament so was really pleased) Really thrilled with the dogs but Skye seems to tire in the afternoon. Monty's time got faster as the day went on--Skye on the other hand got slower.
Now for my question---
She is fed on Skinners Duck and Rice but she seems to lack stamina. Should I change her food and if so what do you peeps think might help her?
She is a collie (the tri in my sig) They all get the same exercise routine etc.
Monty, who is a full border Collie does very well on the Skinners and his energy is boundless. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

hi goya, sorry a bit off topic here but can i ask where abouts in northamptonshire you are? ive been looking for some flyball classes for my collie in the south northants area if there's anywhere you recommend?

if not, i have found a good agility trainer doing classes but would love to try flyball!

We train at Moulton, nr Northampton. We have beginners training on Wednesday evenings, and have just started a course. If you can, why not come down tomorrow evening and have a look. From 6pm but it doesn't matter if you are later. Directions on www.moltenmagnets.co.uk

Jean, our Team Captain has had many years of experience and is considered one of the best flyball trainers.

I'll look at a higher protein food for Skye. Thank you for the responses

thanks for that goya, im right on the northants, bucks. oxon border near brackley so moulton may be a bit far away to get to on a weekday night but im going to see if i can do it anyway i know the dog would adore it so much.

Hi Goya, cant add any advice about the feeding other than echo the protein comments, however well done on the results from the weekend, bet you're well chuffed!

Lula--We'd be pleased to see you. Hope you can make it. Jean may know of a team closer to you so just ask. I'll be there.
Hedwards--Yes, really pleased, thanks. If only Skye had not tired so much in the afternoon, her team would have been much higher so I really must look at the protein issue. I am really thrilled with Monty as he is really only just beginning.
Poor Jess, however is still not right. She has soft tissue damage and it will take for ever to heal. (if ever) Poor girl is totally fed up with being on the lead all the time while the others are having fun. I know it is best for her, but she can't understand poor thing.
