Weever fish

Has any dog owner had the misfortune of their dog being stung by this little begger? A small fish which lives under the sand on the beach and if stood on has venomous spines. It is extrely painful for an adult or child. Any one had a dog stung?

I googled it and it said yes! It said vet treatment needed. I have no personal experience of this however.
