WEG SJ Selection

I think the right combinations were chosen for the dressage, show jumping and eventing, not sure about the driving and vaulting and endurance as I'm not really into those sports

Everyone who got in that team was chosen by talent and recent performances - not about picking the most popular people, although a lot of them were well known.

whos in the team again?! LOL

sozzles dont really follow SJ and Eventing, im a RACER! lol

Remember the team that jumped was not the team originally chosen - we lost Arko III, Mondriaan and Marius Claudius with soundness problems during the run-up to the event. The only obvious omission to my mind was Ellen Whitaker and Locarno. The legal dispute over the ownership was resolved at the end of June so there was ample time to have them on the shortlist - 10 riders could be named by 24th July.

i think the SJ team was o.k., but i'd have replaced one rider with another rider, but thats just me - also i found it terribly unfortunate that will funnell didnt get to compete

dont follow other disciplines really

dont really want to say who i'd have omitted.. comes across a bit rude, and i dont mean it that way, he did well and deserved it, i'd have just liked to see ben maher there, i feel he deserves it too

Shame about Ellen, but the obvious horses went lame and there wasn't a lot left. Russel seemed to do OK. At least Michaels 2 time faults didn't cost him a place in the final

Eventing - still think Over to You should have been in it.

Has GB (in SJ) qualified for the Olympics now?

no, i believe we have to do rather well in the europeans to qualify for the olympics... or thats what i gathered from the commentary on this afternoons individual show jumping..

No. it's not rude. We're all entitled to our opinions. Fine rider that he is, Ben doesn't have a horse ready for this level as yet. Alfredo is a Hickstead specialist and his borrowed ride, Niko did not go well enough at CSIOs to merit consideration.

Only the top 3 teams of those not already qualified for the OG will do so from 2007 European Champs. As I've written elsewhere, this relatively new zonal qualification system penalises western Europe and benefits the nations in zones in which there is little or no top class competition.

Robert's current top horse, Lacroix, is inexperienced - hasn't even done a Nations Cup yet.

PS I'd like to suggest that you correct the spelling of proffesional to professional!
