WEG SJ thread

Cassio Rivetti from the Ukraine - on Billy Birr - familiar horse to us GB people!

Looks to be going well but a little above the bridle. OMG he kicks him on into the treble, eek, one down through there. All looking a bit hairy now TBH. Clear over water and next, very forward going now, over green oxer, turns back and clears the upright. Into final line - over first, too forward through double and gets second element.

8 faults.

And the LOVELY CHamberlain Z now for David McPherson

Over first, second, third - looking good :D

Round to 4, very balanced, clears it nicely. INto treble, like a training exercise, a joy to watch. Round to the wall and pings over that.

Screws up the water and gets wet. Nicely over the next and the green oxer. Turns back well and over the upright.

Final line - over first, David holds him hard into the double, shows his scope, clears both elements and the last.

Very good round for a 9 year old - what a good rider he is.

Johan Lotter for SA on Nova Xonnestraal Rendement

Over first 3 well, nice and calm, round to 4, lovely.

Treble, pop, hit, pop, still calm tho.

Gets into the air over the wall, round to the water, not much speed, 4 faults as on the tape. Next 3 nicely jumped, round to last line - chases and gets the strides he wants, kicks on for last - nice.

10 faults with time.

What happened at the water? It sounds like more than a toe/heel in it?

I agree, I think David McPherson is a fab rider, I have not seen the horse...jealous of you people watching!

There seem to be plenty of greys! I wonder, now coloureds are all the rage, when we shall see one in a World Champs? (i don't think we have so far).

Lorna Clarke did not realise what a trend setter she was!

Helena Lundback now l_f

Looking good over first 3 but hits 4. Nicely through the treble, round to the wall, clear. Water, just not forward enough and gets wet, clear over 8 and 9 tho, turns back for the upright nicely.

Final line now, over the first, clears the double, and the last, but with a time fault, oh and the fence has gone.

13 faults :(

Horse didn't look very enthusiastic TBH.

Sandor Szasz - Goldwing

Nice looking horse but looks very keen and strong! Going to take some holding.

Clear over the first 3 but fighting, pops 4. Treble, first down as too flat.

Bowls on to wall, gets a brick, clear over water, held hard to upright and clears it. Over green oxer, turn backs and clears upright.

Final line, flies the first, zooms over the double and last!

12 faults

Manuel Anon for Spain now - whooop!

Good over first 3, round to 4, perfect. Treble is a gym exercise, easy peasy. Pops the wall, flies water, comes back for upright and goes on to clear the green oxer. Turns back and jumps about 1.80 over it!

Final line - oh nooooo all going wrong - over first and then the rider tried to shorten but horse didn't understand and napped in the middle :( Had to come back round and nailed it - bad, bad luck.

Carsten Otton Nagel now - another lovely grey, Corradina :)

This should be a very good round....

Looking very happy and settled so far over the first 4 - into the treble, no problems there.

Big jump over the wall, lovely over water and upright on a forward stride. The green oxer presents no problem, nor does the turn back to the upright.

Final line is just too easy for them, as is the last.

Absolutely stunning round, 3.5 secs inside the time but not hurried - lovely.

Belgium again now Judy Ann Melchoir on Cha Cha Z - daughter of the owner of the Zanger stud ;)

VERY fast through the treble but still clear. Very forward riding going on, bit of a wing and a prayer if you ask me, but looking stylish!

Into the final line - pings first, doesn't come back enough for the double and hits first part.

4 faults

Eiken Sato from Japan now - eeek already! Forward going chestnut, looks like he wants to tell the rider what to do LOL!

Clear until 4, just doesn't get into the air. Clear over treble, wall, gallops to water and massive jump! Clear over 8 and 9, back round to the upright, fighting but clear.

Final line - HUGE jump over the first, and consequently hits both parts of double, on ONE stride *eek* Stops at the last as just didn't set horse up and was a stride too short.

Yann Candele for Canada :D

Gorgeous big bay horse with a big flash. Over the first 3, just needing to settle a little, oh and too quick into the treble, first down. Round to the wall and pings it, fast over the water and clear over 8. Green oxer is cleared and he turns back to the upright with a bit of a fight and rattles it but it stays.

Final line, knocks second part of the double as a little unbalanced.

8 faults.

New Zealand - Maurice Beatson

Has a very strange riding manner, rather round shouldered and with thrust forward legs!

Horse seems to be hanging in the air here, not pretty so far but clear. Treble causes him no probs though, nor does the wall. Horse has a smack into the water but still lands in it, clear over the upright but gets back rail of the green oxer as just seems a little *bleurgh*.

First fence of last line goes, first of the double goes, last fence goes

22 faults!

Poland - Alexandra Lusina riding a horse by Elvis...thought he was dead ;)

Looks like a big jumping horse, beautifully through the first 4 tho threw his quarters over 4. Treble is done well, backs off the wall a bit but clear. Great over water and upright, sadly gets back rail of green oxer as a bit flat. Turn back completed well. Final line, gets first down, clear through double, clear over last.

13 faults

Italia now - Fabio Brotto - R Gitana

Horse is looking a little hesitant over first 3 fences. Jumps 4 - Pings through the treble.

Pops the wall, but looking a bit backward, but clears water - but gets the upright :(

Green oxer is no problem, turn back beautiful.

Final line - attacks the first, hits both elements of double, clears last.

12 Faults

Netherlands - Jur Vrieling on Bubalu - gorgeously shining in the arena!

Oh dear, hits the first, such a shame :( Spectators are murmering!

Treble clear, pings over the wall and the water and the upright. Flies the green oxer and the turn back is completed well.

Last line, coaxed through and clear, until the last, too deep, sad.

France - Patrice Delaveau

Making it look easy, comes back nicely in the treble, over wall, around to the water at a gallop, comes back very sweetly and clears the upright, and the oxer and the turn back :)

Final line, hairy over the first and hits it as too close, clear through the rest - bad luck, 4 faults.

Carlos Ramirez - Potomac B for Colombia

Gets the first, again!

Rattles 2, awkward over 3 but clear. Fence 4 is pinged, into the treble, horse kick backs and gets first down as too long and flat, clear through rest, slow into the wall but clears it.

Ridiculous over the water and jumps in it, but clears the upright from an almost standstill! Turns back and clear - but almost already out of time!

Final line, clear and nice, last fence he sees a long one and gets front pole.

19 faults.

Daniel Etter now for Switzerland Peu a Peu 4

Runs a bit into 2 but clear, over 3, over 4 with a rattle. Nurses the horse through the treble with a WHOA!

Wall is no prob, over the water, nice forward 4 to the upright. Green oxer comes down in front, again running in. Turns back OK.

Final line - over first, holds for double and clear, over last - nice through that line.

5 Faults

I'm stuck at work but sky plus-ed this but sounding like a lot of faults being wracked up so Rob's time fault and David's 4 faults not sounding too bad at all :-)

Omer Karaevli from Turkey

Over 1, flies 2, and 3, rider messes up into 4 and it comes down. Rattles through the treble but they all stay.

Better over the wall, but then lands in water, and knocks the upright - rhythm just isn't there.

Final line - my close ot the first - but clear through the line until the last, too flat, hits front pole.

Andres Rodriguez from Venezula

Think he got the 2nd down, clear through the treble, hits the water, comes back for upright. Nicely over the oxer and turn backs well.

Last line - forward into first, comes right back for the double and jumps well. Clears the last.

9 Faults - well done

KSA again now - Ramzy Al Duhami

Over the first, over the second, looking like a pro ATM. Hits the third, very forward through the treble, bit eek, not so pro!

Nicely over the wall, clears the water, nice forward shot at the upright. Green oxer so cleared and he comes round well to the upright and clears it.

Final line, concentrating, really pulls back to the double, all clear tho

5 Faults - good job

Rob Smith is still 4th at this point :)

Laura Kraut now on Cedric

Over the first, and the second - he looks on form as always!

3 and 4 are no problem.

Treble - hits the middle element as too forward.

Roud to the wall and pops it - very fast over water but back for the upright.

Green oxer and turn back to vertical no probs.

Final line - over 1, comes back for the double, lovely, just heaves over the last - OK round

4 faults
