I have a 15.3hh WBxArabxTB who has been out of work for a while due to saddle/back issues, which are hopefully sorted now (time will tell).
My question is, can anyone offer any ideas as to why, when he's shod and the fronts are being done, he seems to find it hard to bear weight on his hind legs for any length of time? He's always been a bit like this but yesterday was particularly noticeable. Farrier picked up a front and he was trying to rest a hind and both hinds were going like jelly. He's not lame and his back is no longer sore at all - he's moving really nice and freely now.
He does always seem to be resting a hind leg - I very rarely see him standing on all four legs. He has his back done regularly - as I say he's had a new saddle recently after about 8 weeks off due to muscle wastage/sore back.
