Hiya, I'm wanting to take up riding again after lots of years away from it and unfortunately have gained some weight. Can someone please tell me what type of horse would be suitable for a 13 stone novice.
thanks in advance

Hi just contact your local riding school, they will have some nice horses for you to ride.

Something with a bit of bone, a cob, ID, WB etc would be fine, even a bigger boned TB.

Nice gypsy cob, clydesdale if you are a taller type - (I have one of each) heavy horse X cob type, ID type, Welsh cob/dales/fell/connie - but make sure it is the quiet version - they seem to come in two types, steady or fired up.

Would avoid TB and WBs - they look beautiful - I have had several, but are not suitable for a novice both from a handling and riding point of view.
