Weight gain feed

What's the best feed for weight gain....without the fizz?
At the moment he has honeychop light and healthy with a all purpose balancer.
He has started to loose a very small amount of weight so I want to add something to his feed to help

I had great results with equerry condition mash. Adding a cup (then soaked) to every feed made a massive difference.

I like barley rings well soaked. I think barley itself is supposed to be heating, however have never found barley rings to make anything that I have fed them to, to become fizzy.

I tend to go with a combo of Omega Rice, Top Line Cubes & Alfa A Oil or Performance Fibre

Micronized linseed most definitely. Saracen Equi Jewel is phenomenal for weight gain as well though expensive.

From my recent experience, I would look at the gut microbiome altogether if there is a weight problem (either fat or thin)

Thanks everyone.

He is a New Forest so is a pretty good doer, his workload has increased this year.
He is on a track system with my Dartmoor and because my Dartmoor balloons on fresh air, they have 4 soaked haynets a day.

I just want to give my New Forest something extra as he needs more than the Dartmoor.

I do give him extra time on the long winter paddocks

any oil/fat based product eg micronized linseed ,omega rice,equijewel,baileys outshine,copra meal and alfalfa based chaff.

linseed lozenges - £20 a bag but you only need to add a handful to a feed to make a massive difference.

Those that feed Linseed.......is cooked Linseed the same as micronised?

Oats would add bloom. Linseed oil is easier to feed than micronised linseed I’ve found. Havens slobbermash is brilliant but depends if you want a complete feed. Something less cereal dense like winergy equilibrium is good too.
