Morning..!! Want to know if any of you know of any good weight gain feeds??

I've a 10 year old brood mare (not in foal) and a 3 year old filly who are out for the winter. Mare wasn't in great condition over the summer but manged to get weight on, now its winter she's really dropping off and I don't want her losing any more condition.

Filly is huuuuge.. Can't keep up with her growing spurts!

Just now they both getting scoop of Alfa a oil, 1/2 scoop of equilibrium conditioning, 1/2 scoop conditioning cubes and scoop speedi beet.

Was going to try the barley rings.. Any thoughts??

I've had great results with top spec cool condition cubes. My mare has been quite unwell over summer and lost a lot of weight and I've really been struggling to get it back on. She is a 16.2 middleweight ISH mare around 550kg. She had 4kg a day (a round Stubbs scoop twice a day) along with a scoop Alfa a oil and speedibeet and within a fortnight there was a marked improvement.

Add a mug of linseed to that to boost weight gain :) charnwood milling or equimins are about the cheapest and easiest to get a hold of :)

I've also had good results with allen and page calm and condition and toopspec cool conditions cubes. :)

Fast Fibre is great for weight gain, I swear by it. A mare I used to own was a nightmare for keeping weight on, I tried absolutely everything including very expensive feed and nothing worked, I then switched to fast fibre (very reasonably priced and lasts ages) and it worked a treat. Would also suggest giving her ad lib hay
