I could actually scream!
My mare is underweight, she's always been a yo-yo weight kind of pony.
She's getting a big handful of healthy hooves with oil in for her dinner, a large soaked haynet and she's out for 2 - 4 hours a day.
She was a good weight over the winter as I was giving her speedibeet but as soon as the grass started coming through it was too much for her and she started getting footy.
Everytime iturn around another feed/supplement is being pushed to the front as the " laminitis giving food of the month "
What is just basic and good for safe weight gain?

Eta - yes dengie do make healthy hooves and no she's not fat!!!!

What a nightmare for you!!
My gelding is the same, its a fine line between him being fat and looking ribby and poor!

Could you up his hay abit more? I would say your doing everything right, its just a constant worry isnt it!

I'm going to give her another half a haynet overnight :)
It's so annoying as the bigger, older pony who has less to eat than her is like a hippo at the mo!
