2 of my wee beasties came down with lammi last year and thus I stripped the weight off if them. They are both now a bit on the lean side. What would you be feeding them to put a bit of weight back on safely? At the moment they are on a stripped paddock with 2 slices of hay a day and a small feed of hifi and speedibeet.

Mine is also looking a bit too lean so I am gradually increasing the quantity of soaked hay and he is having some extra Fast Fibre, he is losing the tucked up look and I will continue increasing until he is as I want him.

Yup also have this problem :( the only thing that seems to get weight on her is good grass but that's obviously a no go area!! She is on dengie healthy hooves and unmollased sugarbeet but is still a bit leaner than I would want her ideally :(

glad im not the only one with this problem, mine had stress lami dec/jan box rested etc and the muscle dropped off him big time, he was shod with heart bars in Feb and was sound started working on long reins to build up his back a bit March time and is now back under saddle, he is ridden either schooled for 1hr per day mainly trot, canter and lateral or hacked out he is ridden min of 6 days per week sometimes 7
he is out for approx 17hrs per day with a greenguard muzzle gets hay approx 10kg steamed and i have in the past 2 weeks gradually got him off of happy hoof onto alafa a mollases free he is now getting 1kg of that per day , i am splitting it into 3 feeds now it is up to 1kg
he has lost a bit more weight but i have just upped the alfa from 500g to 1kg the past day or so so it wont have had time to make an effect yet
i just wonder if he needs a bit more due to his work load?? i am frightened to put him out for any more than 30mins without his muzzle as the grass is starting to grow again
a bit of a balancing act

I had some success with alphabeet and unmollassed alfalfa oil. I know some don't think alfalfa is good for laminitics though.

I have a bit of a lightweight laminitic and it's tricky knowing what to feed. I fed Coolstance copra during winter but daren't at this time of year as its high protein.

Another vote for linseed my old boy came out of winter very poor his teeth are going and he has cushings so I have to feed him very carefully. I started him on micronised linseed about two months ago he he is now on four small mugs a day along with dengie alfa-a molasses free, speedibeat and bluechip pro and he's looking loads better and judging by the fact he's gone back to biting me being a pain to catch and chasing the pony about he's feeling better too!
