i have a 17hh warmblood who although isnt a hat rack would look nicer with a bit more weight on him. He is fed alfa - a oil, baileys conditioning cubes (no.4), out in the day on good grazing, in at night with adlib haylage (garlic and biotin added into feed). Anything else i can add to his feed to help with weight gain? He gets two hard feeds a day.

hi i have a 17hh horsey with the same look, have you herd of midds ? its wheat feed middlings midds for short, this is very cheep about £5.50 a bag and this should last 2 weeks or so, feed 1 scoop twice a day mix with any thing you normaly feed its trully brilliant, i have tried all the exspensive stuff including blue chip feed ballancer which is good but this is much more cost effective, i live near newmarket yet they dont sell it, but i get it from my local mill. also if you contact (Bearts) in stowbridge norfolk (yellow pages) may be they can direct you to a supplier near you. :):)

copra meal? boomerang as it used to be known, does the job for me. from coolstance. a bag goes a very long way and high in oil. boiled barley and linseed is also excellent if you can be bothered to cook!

Look into PureFeeds, its amazing stuff and the customer service is brilliant.

Highly recommend. You dont have to bother with all different products its all in one and smells AMAZING! my horse looks fantastic and has calmed down (I thought she was calm before so this wasnt even something i was looking for in a feed!).

Very pleased customer here!

try dividing his feeds into 3-4 little feeds aday that will help digest it easier , but also you could try corn oil very good for weight gain , but also i found that horses that tend to be slower at putting weight on , i would flush through with pink powder for a week or 2
