So I had Piggy weighed today, he originally weight taped at 425kg about 3 weeks ago when he first came home. Anyone fancy a guess? Sold as 12.2 and I think he is but I’ve not measured.

His tail and clip are being sorted tomorrow, thank god ?

365!!!!!!!

Totally gobsmacked. His back was sore but no issues, physio is happy for me to crack on with him, best Xmas present ever. He doesn’t even need to lose much and I think that’ll come naturally with work, just going to focus on lots of walking for now.

Clip wise he needs the rest of his head off and his legs, tail is being pulled although I doubt it’ll be finished in one go - never seen anything so thick in my life and I’ve always had natives! So pleased I decided to hog although I’ll have to make sure I have my ‘oh sh*t strap’ on at all times ?

He has lots more definition between neck and shoulder than he had. I'd be careful he isn't losing too quickly as that comes with it's own set of problems but well done. It isn't easy shifting the weight with good doers.

That was my first thought but he’s on ad-lib hay and rugged so I think the weight tape must have had him too heavy, there’s no way he’s lost all of that so quickly. I can’t wait to see what he looks like in 6 months time

Hooray! Well done, that's fantastic news. I hope you have lots and lots of fun with him!
(It also makes me feel good to be wrong, because I was thinking that if my guess was right...if a little 12.3 is 490kg, goodness knows what my 15.1 is....I do tend to err on the Hugely Pessimistic side when guessing weights though!)

I think this is the time of the year when our good doers finally start to shift some blubber. There's grass to nibble on but it hasn't got much oomph in it and so long as they aren't on rich hay then they will use their fat stores. He's very smart and I think he's going to look fab when he's fit :)

I would put the weight tape on him now just to see out of interest what it says now you can compare it with actual weight.

Great minds! I picked one up today, the original one I used was a friend’s (mine had gone walkies) and we’ve moved yards. He’s measuring 400, so looks like a 25kg loss which doesn’t sound massive but he looks considerably better now. Getting that coat off helped ?

The woman who was meant to be clipping and pulling his tail didn’t turn up and isn’t replying to me, peed off but having spoken to a couple of friends, she’s not very good anyway so probably for the best. I’m going to invest in some cordless clippers and rope a friend in for help, I think I’ll be clipping year round so makes sense to do it myself.

I think it's because he's such a nicely formed mini-cob. None of those funny gawky proportions you sometimes get on the little black and white jobs. I think he's just lovely

Ahhhh, that means a lot! I bought him unseen off old videos and a photo of his head ? just had a good feeling about him. I’m not usually a cob person but he’s beautifully put together and such a lovely person

Definitely, the timing has been perfect! Although I’ve got a hectic jan/feb so probably won’t get much progress made work wise…no massive rush though
