Just got back from weighing Henry - I changed his food a couple of weeks ago so have been keeping an even closer eye than usual on the progress of his diet.

He has lost 700g in the last week, which I think is too much too quickly. What do you think?

He is a Cocker Spaniel, his current weight is 18kg (he is a big Cocker!). The vet reckons he should be about 17.5, i am thinking of going to 17kg as he has mild hip dysplasia so I think it will benefit him to be a little light. In December he was over 25kg so is doing very well! He is currently on about 140g of Iams light per day in 2 meals, plus ad lib treats for training purposes as he is a foodie. He gets about an hour and a half of walks a day.

Any advice?

How is he in himself? If he is lively and happy then I wouldn't worry too much as he is obviously getting enough to eat. My RR lost 8 kilos in 5 months and she was fine.
I only wish my diet was as successful!!

He's a little devil so must be feeling ok

Unless all the naughtiness is hunting for food (strokes chin thoughtfully...)

Speaking of which - he came so close to catching a baby bunny this morning, I was bricking it in case I had to hide a body at work somewhere as that's where we were!!! I would have been just a little bit proud of him though
