For those of you who have horses on a weight management plan and still turn out on grass, how do you adjust your hay ration to account for their time out grazing?
My horse needs to lose a little weight, I know her current weight therefore I know how many kg equates to 1.5% of her body mass. She is currently turned out muzzled for several hours during the day (okayed by vet), and I have done a rough calculation to try and estimate how much grass she's taking in, but I'm worried I might have underestimated it.
Be interested to know how others go about it.

I think it’s generally calculated at .5 of a kilo per hour .
Ah thank you very much GS, I actually might not be far off then as I ended up at 0.3kg/hour taking into account the muzzle. I hadn't seen that figure before so good to know I'm on the right track.
