Thank you guys, the link is really fab.. but I'm actually after what people think the actual weight should be. My friesian boy is a little overweight when weight scored, but not when measured with a weight tape, and I'm keen to know what people would say is an ideal weight for this type of horse.

But actual weight is a funny one, for ex. muscle is denser than fat so 'weighs' more inch for inch. If your boy condition scores as overweight then he IS overweight and this needs to be addressed. Also, all horses are individual just like people - an ideal weight for me would not, for ex., be the same as an ideal weight for a man of my height due to differences in build. Therefore weight alone is an inaccurate measure.

I agree and think you bring up an excelent point. However, I'm just keen to kow what weight people would suggest.
