Weight tape - how to calculate overweight???

Ok ridiculous question alert!

I think I know the answer but it's something that's been bugging me all day after a comment made this morning....

If you were to weight tape a horse, how would you tell (from the tape measure) whether he was over/underweight?
 
To judge if your horse is overweight, you are better off condition scoring. Use the weigh-tape just to monitor any weight loss (or gain lol). I condition score my mare and now she is on a diet, I use the tape once every couple of weeks to make sure she isn't gaining any more weight. Also, make sure you use it at the same time of day each time as their weight can fluctuate a lot in the space of 24hrs.
