Hey everyone need someone to help me with my dumbness
tongue.gif
! I have just got a weight tape so I can keep an eye on my ponies weight over winter but not a clue how to use it! Sorry for my ignorance! Ha ha x

Just put it around them, just behind the withers. There is a wee arrow normally where it meets up with the weight and read it from there. It is just like a normal measuring tape, apart from it being in kg. It is not absolutely accurate, but it let's you know if they are putting on or losing.

ah iv found the arrow! just realised you can work out height of horse as well with this one (dont know if thats standard) but was mixing the 2 together

! thanks thats what was confusing me! sorry 4 being totally dumb!

well, it's not really for working out the height of your horse. Most people know the height. I think it is more to let you know if the weight of your horse tallys with the height. Just an indication if there weight is ok in realtion to their height. I might be wrong but that is what i thought. Very general though.
You're Not being dumb, you would be dumb if you didn't ask.

It is indeed for measuring the height of your horse.
When you use the tape, keep it straight and try to use it in the same position every time.
