Wondering if anyone on here has had any experience with weight watchers?
I'm just over 10 stone at the moment, before I have always been 9 stone & I think just under 9 stone would be an ideal weight for me. Since I started driving the weight has just piled on me & I think it will continue to do so if I don't do something about so tonight me & my friend are going to our first weight watchers meeting ... wish me luck :)

I joined on the Monday just gone but Mum gave me the books she had the Tuesday before. I lost 4lb in just under a week going from 9st 13 to 9st 9! My target is 8st 2.

Ive tried everything to lose weight and WW wasnt an option because I couldnt be bothered with counting points, just didnt think it was me but I have found it surprisingly easy and am chuffed with what I have lost so far!

Good Luck and keep me posted x

I've done it a few times (my fault not the diet's that it's gone back on!) I find it by far the easiest diet to manage. Once you get used to points they're easy to use (I think I now know the points value of everything!) You may have to weigh things to begin with but you soon learn to judge weight so it gets easier e.g I know that two of my handfuls of pasta is 80g (4 points) or two handfuls of muesli is 40g (2 points). Am I sad?

You don't have to go to meetings, just get hold of the books and do it yourself but I find having somebody check on my progress helps. It's very good online as well, lots of recipe ideas and the points database on there is much better than the book. If you sign up online and pay monthly it's a bit cheaper than paying weekly.

I lost 3 stone in 5 months the first time, put 1 1/2 back on, lost it again in 3 months kept if off for 6 months and then put 2 back on over 2 years and am losing it again now - 1st 3lbs so far. I'm terrrible for relaxing too much once I reach my target weight!

Thank you :)

I was quite worried the points would confuse me aswell to be honest, hope I get the hang of it quickly enough. The friend I'm going with has done it before so I'm sure she will help me out if I get stuck.
Those of you who have lost the weight using them, did you do lots of exercise aswell?
I'm going to join the gym in a few weeks but don't think I cold do the diet AND the gym to start with ... I'd definetly not last :P

There's a thread in soapbox with a sticky on it.
The basic points calculation assumes you're not exercising unless you do it as part of your job. You can earn extra points by exercising or if you have an active job it is taken into account when you calculate your points

Dominobrown!! That's mean!!:p I lurrrvvee sausage rolls!!:(

Yes, I am a member. Being doing it since last year and have lost 30ibs so far. I am plateauing at the moment and can't seem to shift these last few pounds to get to goal.
I find the Points system the easiest to do. I tried Slimming World but couldn't get my head around the red and green days and sometimes it's free and sometimes not! With WW you just count everything (except veg) and I found it much better.
I'm not very good at weighing things tho and portion sizes is my biggest downfall.
I recommend going to the meetings just to keep on track and get tips and hints off other members.
Have fun and good luck with your weightloss, although I am tall and would look like a hat rack if I weighed what you do now when you're starting off!!:D

I lost 5 stone on WW about 6 years ago. The weight came off pretty quickly (about 10 months) and I found the points easy to manage. I needed the discipline of going to be weighed every week, but didn't stay for many of the meetings- wanted to get home to ride!

I'd recommend WW to anyone. Good luck with it! :)

Thank you everyone, it's great to here such encouraging stories :)
I had my first meeting tonight & starting tomorrow I'm on 19 points a day, I weighed in at 10 stone, 3 1/2 pounds! I will keep you all updated ;)
