Hi, im an equine student and trying to complete an assignment on weighted boots. However i cannot find the eventing rules on them. not on BE or FEI website. Does anyone know them? All i can find it that Philip Dutton was disqualidfied at the Bejing olympics for breaching the weight limit.

Thanks for your help

Welfare Rule 29/02/2008
The maximum weight allowed for a horse's boot, front or behind, is 500g. Failure to comply with this paragraph will incur disqualification. This is a Jumping Rule modification which applies to Eventing as per Art. 534 Rules for Jumping Events.

You may find this article of some use if you have access to Science Direct you can read the whole paper.

I don't know when it was introduced but I believe it was updated in 2008, I would suggest posting in Competition Riders, they may have a better idea.

I don't have a Faerie horse as much as I like them, my username is my email address, totally unrelated to horses.
