I think that the little piggy has finally started to properly shed the pounds! Now if only I could do the same...It's been a struggle but bit by bit he's looking much more streamlined. He will never be a lanky racehorse and I'm pretty happy with his current condition, maybe a little more to lose but not far off :)

Anyone else with weight updates care to share??

Lovely horse and well done on the weight loss. I obly have the arrival, picture of my pony from 6 weeks ago but hope to post a similar thread in the spring! She has lost about 18k so far.

Wow, he looks brilliant. I don't mean to offend but somehow he looks for conformationally balanced too!

How did you do it? What changes did you make?

Just had a look and the original photo was from 21st May, the new photo was on Sunday. Really took some time to notice much difference, pretty sure he was losing it on the inside first which is good.

You've done well, my daughters pony is on a diet, find it hard to get him to lose weight. He just looks at the grass and doubles in size

No offence taken, he is 'conformationally challenged' to say the least. He has a high % western breeding, which definitely shows! Very comfy though ;)

He's been on restricted grazing since May, with the addition of soaked hay if necessary. Also I've upped his exercise by quite a bit, lots of ground work and more fast work. Considering I absolutely hate jumping with a passion and I broke him in myself last year, I'm very happy to say that he loves his jumping and has made me enjoy it again too. We may not jump very high or well (rather large understatement...) but it gives him a good work out and now puts a smile on my face with how steady and brave he is.

Urrgh, tell me about it! I swear for the first 4 months I felt so evil restricting him with no visible benefit, but I honestly think it just takes a while. Nice to be able to feel his ribs with a gentle push rather than forcing my hand through the layer of fat. He will always have a heavy body in comparison to his legs because of his breeding, but he looks little more in proportion now at least.

What fab photos! Trying to get up some more jumping bravery, need to get on and do it really don't I!

Sorry, in my post I meant 'more' conformationally balanced, not 'for'.
