Do they ever grow up?

Hendy is now 18 months old and if he does'nt have your full attention then something is gonna get it (normally one of the kids toys)
Had a friend over with her two children on Monday, all the kids were outside playing and because Hendy was not centre of attention he came running in with my daughters week old new clarks school shoe which he had chewed the strap off of

Today he was'nt centre of attention again so he has done some 'gardening' and ran around the garden with several plants that he'd obviously decided did'nt need to be in a pot anymore

Thing that gets me the most is, he is just so chuffed with himself

Arrrggggghhhhhh! He is quite cute though

I've got a GSP - many towny folk get confused and think she's a Weimaraner - not sure why when she's the wrong colour and much smaller!

I have spoke to a few people who have both and Weimaraner's are supposed to be nuts!! Our GSP is bad enough!

Sure he will calm down when he gets older.... Hopefully!

No they are babys for a very long time, i was told they start to grow up at 3 years, but millie is now 3 and a half and still has to have a teddy and balls to play with and has to have my attention all of the time.
But it is all worth it with the bond that we have, i love her to pieces and cant imagine my life without her funny little ways.

he looks a very nice dog, they are completely nuts though, i think the boys tend to be worse, ur very lucky though that he is just playful, i have worked with a lot that could be a bit aggressive, however they all had a few problems but it was always the boys to cause trouble though lol i think ur boy is lush though

He is stunning - and with a face like that you could almost forgive him anything!?

I think the larger breeds do take a lot longer to mature, my Doberman at 2 1/2 years old is still a complete fruitcake, but I live in hope that one day she may settle down!
Good luck!

Well.... Mine will be celebrating her 12th birthday on Monday and she still likes to cause mayhem. Only the other day she stole something on the yard and it took ages before we could prise it off her! LOL!! She has a fetish for tissues, and the amount of jackets shes ruined in her time, rooting for used tissues is nobodys business. She is a grand old lady though and long may her naughtiness and liveliness continue!!

I have a weimaraner bitch who we basically rescued, she was tied to a washing line all day long and the family we got her off wondered why she was nuts!! She is such a sweetie and is really well behaved i have a springer as well and she is more a nightmare compared to the weimaraner, i would love to have a litter of pups of her but she came with no papers

They are lovely dogs, my friend had one and she went hacking out with the horses for years, she could run for miles. Sounds like your dog has a cheeky sense of humour and knows what gets mummy to notice. You will look back at all of these little mischiefs in years to come with a smile and a warm heart.

Def looks like he has Gunalt lines in him and looks like he will grow some more! He is only 18 months so in human year approx 10 so i guess he is allowed to be a baby, the breed are rather playful, we breed them and depending on the lines some mature much faster than others but it also depends on the owner and how the dog is brought up, ours have neevr been naughty but they will steal food if given the chance or if left then they will possibly chew but only as babes and by the time they are 4 they tend ot have matured. he is gorgeous and we have a stud dog called Merlin (Gunalt Inquisitor) too.

Hendy is a terrible thief and will steal anything especially food

He did'nt have the best of starts to life, he was bought by a young couple with a small baby and the bloke was in the navy.
The girl could'nt handle Hendy and the pushchair as Hendy was a nightmare on the lead so he never went out

They shut him in a cupboard when people came round as he was so full of it he'd leap over them or he'd run out the front door.
Since having him he has been to training with a local Weimaraner breeder and field trial judge. He absolutely thrives on training and seems to enjoy it. My 6 year old can get him to sit, stay, fetch and drop things. He does follow her about and it's her toys he'll pinch if he does'nt get the attention.
Would love to see pics of your Weimaraners

I used to work a night shift with a girl who owned a W and he was mad...loved him but everytime you got up in the night he would jump really high and lick your face and run around thinking you were taking him out for a walk...not only that he also would race up and down the room while you were watching tv...I thought it was hilarous..I have a cocker who is smaller but still just as mad....

My OH and I were walking through Windsor GP once with the cocker and a W was running down the hill with the owner in the back ground shouting for this dog to come back...the dog completely ignored her was running full plealt at us, was all legs and looked huge...ran up to us jumping up us, licking us and chasing our cocker around...it was quite funny as our dog normally always misbehaves...beautiful dogs and the owner was highly embarrased....
