Sorry for the weird question, my dogs are on the raw 'Duck' diet and have been for two weeks now.
Both collies and have 400g a day (two meals a day) evening meal is mixed with boiled rice and they have either a chicken wing or tripe stick after each meal.

Now- I've noticed that there faeces are very small and almost pellet like?

Is this a sign of constipation?

Thats pretty normal ime. The reason dogs produce large bulky faeces on some diets is because there is a lot of waste material that the body doesn't use and has to be expelled. Hard faeces shouldn't cause a problem unless the dog is straining a lot, and they will also help empty the anal glands.

Ah that's pleasing to hear!

They don't seem to be straining, I had to make myself watch today as I was adamant it was cats faeces it was so small, but alas- 'twas my dogs!

The new and improved poop is one of the reasons I could never go back to kibble;)

Salem's poops used to be enormous and Xara would poop four times a walk

Now it's a clean, unsloppy, non-offensive poop that gives me information on how my dogs are doing.

If they've had lots of bone - it's dry and chalky.
Too much organ/liver and it's more moist.

Both of mine do small pellets except when they've had cooked meat (they get a 'takeaway' on Sundays of leftover roast meat, veg and gravy from the hotel :o) or kibble, maybe once a week they get a Fish4Dogs meal for convenience but the poop the next morning is unbelievably smelly and 3x the size of a raw poop.

Both are medium sized 24kg dogs and two pellets each the size of one's thumb is a usual poop, pale beige turning to white as they dry out and firm to very hard. No smell. :)

Yep - my six working (??!!) dogs are are fed predominantly raw and also get a lot of bones which results in white, chalky "deposits". Hubby is horrified by what I feed my dogs on and still feeds tins to his dogs and, when I clear the garden "deposits", I always know which ones belong to his two disgusting poodles!!!:D

Incidentally, I was listening to the radio one day and someone was reminiscing and said "Why do we never see white dog poo any more?"! Because most people feed commercial rubbish, that's why!

My dogs' poo disintegrates and blows away. I picked up three lots today from over the past few days (they don't poo much and generally go when out) and it was teeny and solid.

I think most raw feeders can judge their bone to meat ratio via staring at poo!

Ostrich, I think the dog's stomach acid adapts so on raw, they can sometimes take a while to adjust to different meats.
