Weird rash on poorly dog!

Try lifting her gum and see if there are any on the gums/mucous membranes of mouth?

Gums are pink. She’s actually brighter. Poor pooch.

I don't know if it is that, it was just my first thought seeing the rash and I would want it checked by a vet.

I think quizzie is a vet and can give better advice than me.

Petechiae are small pin-point areas of haemorrhage into the skin, so the skin is usually smooth/not raised or rough feeling. They have a variety of causes, but definitely worth a conversation with vets. They will not blanche when put pressure on them.

I don’t know what it is but I’ve seen it in my own dogs before - particularly those with white/pale pigment.

I have to say it has just subsided as other symptoms were treated. I’m mostly thinking of my little white greyhound Flick, who got skin rashes at the drop of a hat - thankfully they always went away by themselves or with the application of aloe Vera.

Being me, I’d always check with the vet mind you

Hmmm if they’re raised like little angry spots then could be an allergic reaction either as part of what’s going on with her or a medication reaction.

If skin not raised at all and more like lots of little pinprick marks / bruises then could be petechia and would need further investigation ASAP (Check her gums for similar marks & also her sclera for any signs of bleeding)

Oooor less alarmingly if it’s an area they’ve freshly clipped her in then actually it could just be clipper rash.

I think it's always better to get these things checked by a vet, to put your mind at rest if nothing else.

I hope it turns out to be nothing to be concerned about.

Vet not worried says it’s allergic Piriton for a couple of days and hopefully drama resolved!
