Years ago riding on Dartmoor tought me to check the landing side before I jumped. I was in mid air over a gorse bush whn I noticed a couple naked and very engrossed in each other. Good job my pony was a good jumper.
lol, I'm Exmoor way too, and we have a local weirdo! My friend and I were leading our ponies along a bridlepath the first time we met him. They weren't even tacked up. One is 12.2hh and the other is 13.3hh. We were walking slightly faster than an average snail. This bloke with an Alsatian, whom we'd never seen before, moved across to let us past, then shouted, "You shouldn't bring those blankety - blank horses along here; they churn all the path into mud!" I don't like being sworn at for nothing, so attempted to reason with him but finally decided he was totally unbalanced. Two weeks later, another friend leading a horse met him on the same path and he took her photograph (which I'm sure must be illegal?) and had a go at her too. Since then he seems to have mellowed, grunts "hello", and offered my friend the photo of "her lovely horse". He gives me the creeps and I don't like going up there alone now, as he goes up mornings and afternoons. Sadly, we only have two bridlepaths easily accessible from our yard, and they seem to be the two he lurks on. Maybe he has migrated from Dartmoor?
