Well as im meant to be out tonight and my car has a battery as flat as a pancake i thought i would give you all an update of songs knee!!

Most of you will already know about songs knee but if you don't i will give you a quick recap - at gatcombe on 15th Sept doing the Intermediate, our last event before Weston park * he fell out of the water slicing his O/F knee almost to the bone and also nicking a tendon sheath!!

So the story so far in pics

WOW! It's so interesting to see these, as if I was ever faced with anything that looked as bad (at its worst) I would despair....but your photos show an encouraging improvement - I hope it continues.

that was when the abses burst!! lovely i no!!

well think the vet will se him this week and see what he thinks of the whole thing - but its also the back fo his knee, have no pics of that but there and area about the size of a 2p piece that has no skin and is very sore more so that the front!!

So wehn thats all sorted i will think about lead outs but that wasnt very succesful when i last tried it before the abses as he liked to roll that a buck and a squeal!! not so god on the end of a short rope!! so we will see!! Would love to have him in to maybe do the OPN at bath and west or the Nov at aldon - but as the plan was he could be ridden after 4 weeks i think its abit of an ask!!

I'm sorry they take ages to heal don't they?
Layla is now back in full work with the plan to start her in Intro next season. Her knees have a small bald area of black skin but the surrounding hair has grown longer so it isn't very noticable at all.
It goes without saying we only hack her out in knee boots now!
The honey and cod liver oil tulles sorted hers out in the end, you start to see the knee filling in from the inside them after that it speeds up..
