A post earlier on today to which I replied has made me loose complete heart with HHO, the OP is not to blame she and one other were the only ones to take on what I was trying to say. I tried to point out that I AM NOT a 'parelli' tye. I took on a horse who had been well and truly damaged by the stupid ignorant fools who tried to break her in. She would proceed to throw every single one of them off. She was then sent to Grant Bazin- Mony Roberts demo rider and in 2 months he fianlly had her riding out. But even then her confidence was rock bottom, to handle shes a dream, but try to sit on her without gaining her confidence and you will not be on her for long. So- under the advice of her previous owner I watched a parellt DVD and now play the seven games. I play them for about 4/5 minutes, maybe longer if its a windy day and shes on edge. As soon as she licks/chews and softens I know shes happy with me and I can get on. No she "hasn't seen me coming" as one poster said. I am no fool believe me! I have been 100% sensitive with this little horse- and I am proud of what we have achieved. Admittedly before having her I wouldnt have batted an eyelid at Parelli especially when its being done by a toffee nosed, over stimulated woman Linda Parelli. But I learnt that sometimes we need to look out the box. What has truely shocked me is the attitude of people here and the comments towards my post- I was shot down for wanting to spend 10 min a day bonding with my horse- Hey if you think you can do better at riding her you are more than welcome to try and ride her without gaining her trust- and sorry but a pat on the nose and a carrot will not do the trick. Those that know me on here I have been riding for 18 years, I have competed to BD elementary, and I break and drive horses, but I am no expert and was willing to accept trying something new, actually the seven games are quite good fun if you do them quickly, and mix them up a little!
And finally no I do not agree with all Parelli methods- but I took was worked for my mare. I feel like never ever posting on this forum again- gosh to be laughed at like you guys did was more than enough to put anyone off!
