Well and truly Shocked at the way this forum has made me feel!

Sophie, I barely remember anyone on here unless they are old-timers. I certainly don't bear any grudges or make long-term judgements on what others do or say. I also reply to every post as a one-off, and with nothing whatsoever to do with any previous postings or disputes, unless they are highlighted by another person.

In this thread, your nit-picking reminded me of my 11 year old daughter - in other posts, it's likely you won't and don't, therefore I wouldn't think of you as this and won't reply to you in the same manner.

It's really not much different for me to say you sound childish as it is for you to claim I am dictatorial
wink.gif
. The only difference that I can see is I don't care what anyone on here says or thinks about me. Life is too short for all that.

If your horse trusts you know, why do you have to keep doing the parelli games?

Perhaps it is the routine that the horse takes comfort in

I wont pretend to know about Parelli because I dont, but I think many horsemanship methods have at least some good points we can take, i think sometimes what people object to is the somewhat cult like following some methods like Parelli seem to have.

I think the reaction Shadowmonkey got was because of how she worded her post, not because she was doing Parelli.

IMO whatever works and makes your horse and you happy has to be a good thing.

Well go out and buy some more! I think some good conversations could be had if you were to make the effort on the oar front.
grin.gif

Why don't you ask Puppy? She might be able to help you out with some fit rowers.
wink.gif

I'm sure I read about someone who did row across the Atlantic and it took them several weeks.....

I dont think I said you were dictatorial? Did I ? I certainly dont have any reason to think or say you were.

i agree life is too short. Sorry if you felt I was nit picking , i probably was however I do think Mz Elz got the rough end of the stick herself over her post. Perhaps its just hard for people to tell the tone of things over the internet as oppose to face to face.

It's that Tia.
She's always causing trouble.
I say we row across and get her.
I've got a dinghy - anyone got some oars? I wore mine out using them to stir with...

How long do you think it would take a team of nubile young men to get from the Severn to Canada.
I could 'encourage' them....

really? There's been some pretty mocking replies to previous threads about parelli, so although in many cases in this thread it may have been the 'wording', i think in others it may just have been the word "parelli".

Puppy - fit rowers, please...preferably nubile
Patches - slut!
Cahill - I was going to make them ROW not FART
Sophie69 - Tia IS a dictator in want of a country
Dottie - I think you should call them 'carrot oars' then
xxKatyxx - read the original post, it did sound funny.

You are probably right Katy, but I think so many people have a certain perception of Parelli, that the mere mention of it brings to mind a steroetypical image.

From what Ive seen lots of Parelli looks like an expensive waste of time but I think it does have some good points in the right hands, as shadowmonkeys experience seems to show.

Personally though, Ive never tried it so cant comment on if it does work, just going on what Ive read I guess!

blush.gif

No you didn't; I was using a comment made previously by another poster merely as a comparison.

I also thought that MizElz was told off enough in her post which was why I didn't reply to it. I was purely trying to point out that the trivial manner in which she was retelling the story to Shadowmonkey was not quite how I remembered it being told initially....however there were inaccuracies on both sides - that happens on forums unfortunately.

It is undoubtedly difficult to tell what tone or manner people have when posting. I have long-passed being sensitive about how people take what I say; I try to write in a literate manner however my posts still get misread and sometimes I am to blame for that, and sometimes it is the reader who cannot take the time to filter what I am writing. Anyway, such is life and it's something that doesn't really bother me on here.

No ruder than offering to 'cosy up' with some young man you're not even engaged to. I'd have had to chaperone you.

It's a shame because it often gets in the way of a good discussion, but on this forum the unwritten rules are:
1)you must never mention Parelli
2) never say you hit your horse

[/ QUOTE ]

I think the second one should be replaced with....Always wear a hat/chinstrap (then you can hit your horse.

Oh have no fears on that score Katy - I am not into physical violence.
