... like i should be.

Some of you may remember my excited post on saturday as i was going to Durham for a weeks riding holiday with a friend.

Well we had to come back at 8pm last night because something in my ankle went during a lesson (at first i thought maybe a my stirrup had caught on something and swung around and bashed me but i realised my foot was still in it and where it should be and my stupid joints were obviously just not strong enough). I'm soooo angry and disappointed as we were having a fantastic time. Now i'm sat here swollen and bandaged and iced after 2 hours in a+e to be told it's ligament/tendon/soft tissue damage... meaning no bones broken and they can't be bothered to find out what else it is, so just rest it til it stops hurting.

Good news is that the lovely owners of the place said we could make up the rest of our holiday in a few months for free (thank god as this is the one time i forgot to get holiday insurance!!).

And bless the instructor who is covering for the usual one. She was fantastic and did push us to do new things but she felt terrible about my ankle and gave us her home number in case she's not there when we go back. She said she will try and come back just to teach us

But apart from the embarrassment of being lead to the front door of our accommodation on horseback and in tears (they wouldn't stop, damn them!) Then having the gamekeeper over to lift me off the horse

and the obvious pain it was a really nice few days of hacking and 2 fantastic lessons i got so much out of.

Cookies and wine for getting to here. Sorry it's a right essay. I just needed to get it all out as i'm sat in a stuffy room unable to do much and i'm pretty peed off and miserable.

Thank you! Wine is indeed on the agenda when OH gets home from work any minute

All i need now is some giant palm leaves and some hunky men to waft them at me (don't tell OH! lol)

Aw hun. Huge hugs to you. At least you still have something to look forward to

As to embarrasment, when I came off Dizz and foolishly got back on, when I got to the then new yard I had to get hubby to sort of haul me off Dizz (16.3hh) as I couldn't figure out how to do it without bashing or using my left arm. Of course everyone was watching

MrsM at least you had a good reason to be hauled off Dizz, at least there was some excitement to your story not just trotting 'round and then shouting out in pain like some kind of crazy woman. And it's quite sweet when it's your hubby too, that's romantic in my mind, like a knight coming to rescue you

Not a complete stranger (and strange in the other sense too) coming over to get me off a 14.1 pony lol. I had quite an audience too. Think they were worried i might try and sue.

Thanks for the nice replies everyone it cheered me up x
